India - Replacing Coal With Solar Plants Saves $8 Billion!

It's amazing, but it's a real. New research by Greenpeace showed how India could save billions of dollars in process of replacing old coal plants with solar plants. During 2017. coal consumption has dropped to an average 2.2%. It's a big step forward in comparison with period from last few years (6.6% caol consumption) Without doubt  definitely they doing a good  job with solar in last few years....

With the right moves, India’s renewables push could lift thousands of rural workers out of poverty. These sector could create 333.000. jobs in next five years. It's a really big step for India.

I found research about their renewables plans. And, guess what? 49% of India’s power to come from renewables by 2040. New Age, New India. Go green.

2016 was a sure landmark year for renewables in India, 2017 not so much. But, that doesn't mean the year wasn't without it's own triumphs as many renewable experiments were ultimately successful including partly solar powered trains and solar powered agriculture...

As big solar and wind floundered, small innovations were the highlights of India's renewables sector. Still, they are try to be leader in renewables for that part of region. And, we have to respect that..

Each of us can believe what he want about climate change, but there's a lot more jobs in green tech than in fossil fuels. Because, green is future.

I'm not so sure about that. Percentage-wise, perhaps. But flat out numbers, no way.

When we are talking about jobs - I think it will be reversible process. More solar,more renewable, more jobs. Same principle as for energy, or mines...Market conditions dictate the pace.

I found news how "Solar, wind, and battery prices are dropping so fast that, in Colorado, building new renewable power plus battery storage is now cheaper than running old coal plants. This increasingly renders existing coal plants obsolete." Things sometimes go faster than we think...

This could be interesting. Do you know if you want to replace the actual production of 4000Twh per year by 100% solar energy, you would need to cover a square of 300x300miles full of solar panels. It's like turning the Michigan all black.
