LNG Supply Set for 9% Rise

Recommended Posts

One of the major trends in this area has been LNG, and gas in general,  taking share from coal in certain markets. This has been notable in the US, helped by certain Obama-era regulations pushing coal plants into closure. Disgruntled coal miners helped elect Trump, although it is difficult to see what the President can do about gas prices. In Britain access to North Sea gas resulting in the UK closing most of its coal plants. Now it has to rely on gas from Russia. One suggestion for containing Putin is for countries such as the UK to switch from piped gas to LNG from Australia and the US and others.. In other words switch to different delivery systems/suppliers for the same commodity.. As you can see its not simply a question of supply and demand.
