US Slaps Visa Bans On International Criminal Court Officials

The US has slapped visa bans on ICC officials who are investigating so-called war crimes by US or allied military personnel in Afghanistan, as well as states where the CIA held prisoners such as Lithuania and Poland.

These bans may also be used more generally to deter the ICC from investigating other so-called war crimes by any US allies without their consent.

The US is prepared to go further and slap economic sanctions on these ICC officials if they persist in their investigations.

Affected ICC officials may travel to UN headquarters in NY if on official UN business.
