China Builds ‘World’s Biggest Air Purifier'

A 100-meter high air purification tower in Xian in Shaanxi province helped reduce smog levels in the city, bringing a noticeable improvement in air quality. At least that's what preliminary results say.

It sounds like an interesting idea, of course, if it's true. They say this tower can produce more than 353 million cubic feet of clean air a day since its launch.

But at the same time Greenpeace report says that China is winning battle against pollution in big cities while this country saw only a small improvement in air quality in the last year.

Seems like the idea right now is to move pollution out of city centers and to decrease pollution sources inside.

I don't believe in this until I see an independent study. I'm not a believer in state-published air quality numbers.

When I see news like this one I feel confident. As long as it becomes a contest between superpowers, we can expect a solution for global warming.

Does this air purifier run off of fossil fuel energy? I couldn't find anything about it. If it does, than it denies itself.

most renewable energy does. It relies on fossil fuels to manufacture

well, yes, but I'm guessing that any renewables manufactured by fossil fuels is still a plus for the climate.
