Hasta La Vista, Maduro? Guaido Calls On Troops To Join Him In Uprising Against Maduro

Recommended Posts

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido on Tuesday called for a military uprising to oust President Nicolas Maduro and armed factions clashed at a protest outside a Caracas air base as the country hit a new crisis point.Reuters witnesses said several dozen mostly young armed men in military uniform accompanying Guaido exchanged gunfire with soldiers acting in support of Maduro outside the La Carlota air base but the opposition did not appear to be about to take power by force. Guaido, in a video posted on Twitter earlier on Tuesday morning, said he had begun the “final phase” of his campaign to topple Maduro, calling on Venezuelans and the military to back him to end Maduro’s “usurpation.” Around three hours after his announcement, there was no sign of any other military activity. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

“Socialist leader” is an oxymoron. The socialism Marx and Engels wanted was a class-free society which would have no leaders whatsoever.

Just look at the list:  Pol Pot, Mao, Lenin, Stalin, Castro, Chavez, Maduro..

It’s a highly fluid situation; ultimate outcome is unclear...

Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro said on Tuesday he had spoken with military leaders and they had shown him “their total loyalty,” after opposition leader Juan Guaido said he had the support of troops to oust Maduro.

“Nerves of steel!,” Maduro said on Twitter. “I call for maximum popular mobilization to assure the victory of peace. We will win!”

This will fail. The military, when they are willing to kill to keep power, always wins. This military has proven they are will to engage in wholesale slaughter. The only way Maduro will fall is by an armed insurgency, which Venezuelan yuppies are not suited for. This is no different than Hungary, 1957 or Czech, 1968 - both doomed because the Soviet military was willing to kill. Guaido is premature and doomed reform in Venezuela for another decade. To see what will happen, see Turkey over the last couple of years.

Then again, the military is so-called "loyal" to Maduro only because they share in the spoils, the raping of the country done by Maduro insiders.  Mr. Trump is actively promoting regime change by interfering with currency exchange through the world financial system, and by chopping off the sale of oil.  Anybody want to guess what happens when the military can no longer pay the troops, and they feel the burn?

All the Americans need to do to topple Maduro is to seize some boatloads of oil pulling into or out of that Maracaibo terminal, and tow them off, or for that matter do an airstrike demolishing those parked Russian transports that brought in the "advisors."  Turning that hardware into scrap will send a salient message, both to the Russians and Cubans, and to the Venezuelan military brass.  "Yanqui imperialismo?"  I don't think so. Put that Maduro bum in jail.

~ The last time it happened El Presidente "PJ" led a bloodless coup that lasted 3 days in 1958.........

Venezuela was a stable democracy, from then, until the CHAVENISTS seized power.

They only way Guaido will be successful is to gather the military, the professional class, the wealthy landowners and, the moneyed people to back him.

10% of the population controls the wealth in most of the LATIN COUNTRIES

IT HAS BEEN SO SINCE PIZZARO & THE CONQUISTADORES OF SPAIN.

SEE "Gomez, Tyrant Of the Andes" Peron, Allende and other tin horn dictators.

This too shall pass, and soon......... ! VIVA LIBERTAD !
