What's Happening in Iraq?

I've been seeing headlines about deteriorating security in Iraq. What's going on there? Weren't things beginning to calm down?

Haven't been following ins and outs of Iraq lately but security there will always be tenuous due to eternal conflict between Shia and Sunni, with Shia Iran stoking the fires to keep Iraq unstable and to make US position difficult by using their proxies. Throw the Kurds into the equation and you have a country tailor made to be a pawn of bigger powers.
