Gasoline shortages are here to stay in Venezuela

In the last 2 weeks massive nationwide (except Caracas for political motivations) gasoline shortages and lines at pump stations have been seen in Venezuela due to the crippling refining system of the country, collapsing oil production and the added element of the U.S. sanctions against venezuelan oil and gasoline exports and imports, altogether a mortal cocktail that could burst anytime soon since Maduro does not count with the financial comfortability to keep up importing and even less to revamp the aging and damaged refineries in the country which have been the main cause for the gasoline scarcity all across the country, paralysing practically the venezuelan economy coupled with intermittent power outages, which could ultimately pave the way for a generalised uprising and to topple the Maduro regime while the opposition cant seem to capitalise this growing discontent with the momentum of Juan Guaido vanishing relatively with Maduro trying to gain more time now with talks in Oslo Norway.

Given that most Venezuelan crude oils are heavy to extra-heavy, this would only add to it being more difficult to extract lighter parts out of it and to break down heavier parts into lighter parts such as for gasoline.

A pity Venezuela destroyed it's domestic refining system.
