Iran’s Guard Talks Tough, Says It Has No Fear Of War With US

Recommended Posts

Iran’s influential Revolutionary Guard said Tuesday it doesn’t fear a possible war with the United States and claimed that America hasn’t grown in power in recent years — the latest tough talk from Tehran amid escalating regional tensions and a crisis with Washington. “The enemy is not more powerful than before,” said the Guard spokesman, Gen. Ramazan Sharif. Tensions between Washington and Tehran soared recently over America deploying an aircraft carrier and B-52 bombers to the Persian Gulf over a still-unexplained threat it perceives from Tehran. The U.S. also plans to send 900 additional troops to the Mideast and extending the stay of another 600 as tens of thousands of others also are on the ground across the region.

Meanwhile... "Tehran is prepared to hear out Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe when he visits Iran in mid-June to offer mediation in the Islamic Republic’s dispute with the United States, Iran’s foreign ministry said Tuesday."

I thought it was time for the end of Mullahs regime, but I found this: Trump says U.S. is not looking for a 'regime change' in Iran, just does not want the country to have nuclear weapons

Yes, Abe is one of the few leaders who has good relations with US and Iran (especially US). But Japan has a small presence in Iran and key Q : Does Japan have any strings impact among Mullahs?

More than likely there will be no "major" war/military engagement with the US armed forces and Iranian military. Things may happen here and there , that Iran will carry out through proxies, or the proxies will carry out "lone wolf" type incidents and there maybe few skirmishes between the Mid East countries armed forces and proxy instigators as we have seen in the very recent past.

Anyone remember the Iraqi Republican Guards? they were so feared? they dropped like dead flies left and right and were falling each other to surrender to the US military!!!!

The Revolutionary Guards will be revolting after being pounded by the US, but I do not see a large scale US engagement and military involvement unless something drastic is done by the Iranians. They all want to be intact and not have much more harm and damage to their economy, infrastructure and people and Gov. than what already has been done via sanctions and isolation.

It seems that America is fairly inept on alternative forms of conflict compared to Putin, Xi, and some other nations. The same is true in propaganda efforts. Part of this may be due to our distance, and lack of language and cultural skills in those areas. Still, we have failed in parts of Latin America where we have the advantage.
