China's Sinovel Convicted In U.S. Of Trade-Secret Theft

This Chinese wind turbine maker was convicted for stealing trade secrets from AMSC, causing the Massachusetts based company to lose more than $800 million and subsequently lost more than $1 billion in shareholder equity and almost 700 jobs. Sinovel was found guilty on all charges it faced, such as conspiracy, trade-secret theft and wire fraud.

China is dependent on mostly stolen technology for all its items. They cannot create any new thing on their own. They steal technology and create their copies. They are famous for it.

And now a deep analysis of this case draws a conclusion that this verdict could embolden US efforts to take a tougher stand against China in international trade matters. Like it already didn't.

 In Chinese this is not stealing, it's business.

Maybe after this the US doesn't have to pay back their debt to China? Actually that was supposed to be a verdict. Debt absolution due to theft of the intellectual property.

I wonder if the 700 people who lost their jobs got anything from the lawsuit.
