While cleaning leaked oil engine oil from the garage floor it occurred to me that this waste might be a useful catalyst for heavy oil hydrogenation. It must contain near-micron sized particles of iron scraped off the engine block. Used engine oil will mix easily with the heavy oil requiring upgrading.
