Records are made to be broken, but 2016 will get to keep its crown of hottest year on record. NASA scientists are finished analyzing 2017 weather data and have concluded it is the second-hottest year globally on record, with global temperatures averaging 1.62 °F above the 1951 to 1980 mean. The heat average is part of a trend of more than four decades of rising global temperatures, which researchers say is nearly certain to be a sign of climate change, attributable primarily to greenhouse gas emissions caused by human activity.

 It's a cycle been happening for millions of years! Look up the holocene epoch!

Century over century, the climate IS changing. But looking at it year over year is statistically irrelevant, as most scientists agree that there is natural variability year to year.

CO2 levels keep increasing, and are now the highest in hundreds of thousands of years. CO2 is keeping heat from escaping into space. Increasing CO2 means less heat escaping Earth. Earth heats up. Is it really a surprise?
