US military Among The Biggest Climate Change Culprits?!

Recommended Posts

In a study by scientists from Durham and Lancaster University, researchers examine emissions stemming from the US military's logistical supply chains.

Just taking into account emissions stemming from fuel usage the researchers say that if the US military were a country, it would be the 47th biggest contributor to climate change worldwide, in between Peru and Portugal according to World Bank data.

First, perhaps UK universities should study the UK military's contribution to theclimate  change issue instead of studying the US military. Charity begins at home...

Second, if the EU, NATO, Russia, China or anybody else would like to take over the mantle of 'Global Policeman', which has been thrust on the US - go for it! They can start by sending warships and sailors to the Straits of Hormuz to ensure that it is kept open.

This way the US can start closing bases overseas, bring our soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen home. This will decrease our contribution to climate change, save the lives of our soldiers, free up money to address social issues within our own country and give us a warm, fuzzy feeling concerning climate change.

Okay, let's start by closing all the bases in the UK.
