Modern environmental alarmism was engineered from the ground up to be a new religion the same way Nazi & Communist ideology were engineered from the ground up to be new religions.

You call it alarmism rather than an attack on living longer with a higher quality of life. You right wingers hate the idea of clean water and air and love to label those who expect it. Who knows where the twisted greed and thirst for power and control came from. It has been mankind’s biggest failing.

Or is it that you have a split personality?  Is this how you lie to yourself all the time and forget everyone else does not have a split personality and can decipher the massive difference between AGW(CO2= harmless to humans and is plant food) and releasing heavy metals into atmosphere/hydrosphere?  Hrmm?

I never said I was opposed to clean air and water.  In fact, I'm a big fan of the EPA.

The difference between me and renewable advocates is:
1) I bothered to earn the STEM degree necessary to analyze energy options.
2) I bothered to study the balance between affordable energy and cleanliness (both affect people's health)
3) I didn't restrict my analysis to the upper-middle-class and wealthy, who don't care if the price of energy doubles.
4) I bothered to follow the renewable energy money to find out who it enriched.
5) I bothered to study total system costs, which are still exceedingly high for renewable energy. 
etc.

I call it alarmism because I've had this discussion repeatedly for the last decade, and I don't believe the push for renewable was created in good faith.  Renewable advocates are completely ignorant, completely emotional, and completely driven by what their political lords and masters tell them.  The push for renewable energy comes from the political and corporate leaders who have mastered the art of manipulating the masses for power and profit; there's little substance to it. 

You do what makes you happy; just don't make me pay for it.

Religions are based on faith. The climate change issue should be based on fact. It is not.

Here is a pop quiz item you can use in any debate on this issue - when was the first formal warning on climate with a time limit issued? Give up? In 1989, the director of the New York office of the UN Environmental Program, a Noel Brown, declared that the world had only 10 years to reverse the global warming trend.  Otherwise whole nations would be swallowed  up by rising seas, there would be millions of eco-refugees and so on. Prof James Hanson had giving an alarmist address to Congress the previous year, which kicked off the climate debate thing, but without a time limit for action..

Sorry, you are WAAAAYYYY off.  In 1920s, if drastic action not taken all glaciers are going to melt causing catastrophe for agriculture around the world....
