John Foote + 1,135 JF July 16, 2019 I know this seems odd, but I swear economic prosperity works against much of the Iranian mullas. Seriously, it would hurt their controls within the country. General LeMay famously said of the North Vietnamese, we'll bomb them back into the stone age. Forgetting of course they were an agrarian society barely out of the stone age. For the mullas, being able to blame the west for any economic issues actually helps them stay in power and keeps western decadence and material wishes at bay. Western style prosperity is actually something they don't want. The greater masses want more, but now who do they blame for their situation? As for Iran reaching out to chat with us, from some of the Middle East "news" feeds I get, it's Trump/Pompeo who want the reach out for the symbolic achievement, and the Iranian mullahs are beside themselves happy with how this is playing out to Iran's favor. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
