Democracy on Putin's way: Kremlin Critic Navalny Returned To Jail Despite Poisoning Fears

Recommended Posts

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was discharged from a Moscow hospital on Monday and returned to prison under guard after being treated for what his lawyer and doctor have described as suspected poisoning from a chemical agent. Navalny, 43, was rushed to hospital from jail on Sunday with what his spokeswoman said were signs of an acute allergy with “severe swelling of the face and skin redness”. The Moscow hospital treating him said on Monday it had discharged him after his condition had improved. It said it could not disclose what it believed had been behind his sudden illness due to patient confidentiality. Elena Sibikina, one of the doctors who treated Navalny, told reporters that the idea that he had been poisoned with a chemical substance had “not been proven”. She said his life was not in danger. His own doctor and lawyer said they opposed the “strange” decision to return Navalny to a prison cell where they believe he was somehow poisoned in the first place.

Usually, with Putin's way of thinking about his political enemies, the next and last step is close: .... they'll find him dead.

Obviously there are two key things here: Putin never gives up and the regime does not change.

The pretence of democracy is obvious! Russia is a one man and one party system and they clearly are not allowing any opposition.

Well, it would be a lot easier for liberal forces to change russian mindset if you didnt put NATO bases near russian borders just after collapse of USSR  and put sanctions on russian economy in last couple of years.

Russian can rightfully accuse democratic dissidents that's their fault NATo troops are now 150 km from Petersburg.

Because you must be really stupid to start revolution or change rulling elite  in a country sorrounded by enemies.

This is fortress mentality and antiwestern sentiment is nowadays widespread in Russia.

Please read these 2 articles

https://www.nytimes.com/1998/05/02/opinion/foreign-affairs-now-a-word-from-x.html -famous US diplomat George Kennan predicted new Cold War and russian return to authocracy because on NATO eastward expansion more than 20 years ago

http://www.unz.com/akarlin/when-russians-were-americanophiles/ - Russians were big americanophiles back  in 1991 but not anymore thanks to US foreign policy

But you couldnt  resist encyrcling Russia so now they dont care what you think about russian democracy and dont believe anything you say.  Another result is russian-chinese alliance against USA.

You literally broke agreement to not expand NATO made with Gorbachov

https://nationalinterest.org/blog/the-buzz/newly-declassified-documents-gorbachev-told-nato-wouldnt-23629

Apart from that you killed milions of people after WW2 all over the world and meddled in elections in more than 80 countries so please dont pretend  here to be some kind of  moral authority because I must remind you at least Iraq invasion where more than 1.000.000 people died after 2003.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-11-10/us-military-deployments-map/5875274

So If you don't like Putin read once more what Kennan said back in 1995.
