Chinese Solar Company Plans to Build U.S. Factory as a Response to Trump's Tariffs

Trump wanted Chinese solar panels firms to make more of their products in the U.S. Obviously China got his message and now one of China's biggest manufacturers plan to build an advanced solar manufacturing facility in the U.S.

So they don't know there's a risk of withdrawning these tariffs due to challenges at the World Trade Organization? Than making U.S. factory would be really unnecessary.

In the case that really happen, even I doubt, they could still supply the developers with modules from Asia and still make a profit.

Well, if you look at the models that are made in the USA, they're mostly trucks, SUVs and minivans. The type of vehicles that people in Asia or Europe either can't afford to buy it or can't afford to fuel it.  Sparking trade wars is not responsible government.

How long does it take to actually setup a module or cell manufacturing plant? I would think minimum of a year for module and two for cell. By that time part of the tariff is gone and prices have probably dropped more than the tariff. Good idea to trade 23,000 jobs for maybe 2,300 jobs.
