Some of them, others vastly overshoot the EU targets. They should get credits for what has been achieved, while still long way to go.

It depends on your target. It is easy to achieve if you’d like to produce %1 of total production from renewable.

The EU target is 20%, some of those listed are below that, others well above. Some of them uses about 50% renewable.

Those are the countries with low population density, no (heavy) industry, and thus a lot of forest and nature.

Some of them "achieved" the targets, because they not really had serious targets or in some cases are denying the importance of renewable energy. So your list is flawed.

Latvia, Austria and Portugal might not have achieved them yet, but they have some of the most ambitious targets - and their progress to date is impressive. 30% of national energy consumotion coming from renewable sources. (Source for Damir, Eurostat)

Actually for example, the target for Finland is 40% while the target for the entire EU is 20%...It's not so easy criteria as you think

Ah, so that's why electricity bills are going up and up, and up. But it does my heart good to know that my juice is coming from wind mills, sure it does. Meanwhile, Sofia is a European leader in pollution. So easy to beat yourself on the chest about targets while people pay through the nose to have electricity and suffering chronic pulmonary problems because of the quality of air.
