Vivienne Westwood Says Greta Thunberg Should Run the World

Dame Vivienne Westwood has said teenage environmentalist Greta Thunberg would make a “great” world leader.

Speaking to The Big Issue, the British fashion designer, who is dedicated to tackling environmental issues, explained that having Thunberg in control of the planet would help reduce carbon emissions.

“If Greta was world controller it would be great,” Westwood said of the 16-year-old Swedish activist.  ...

...  Westwood, 78, went on to argue that while progress has been made, we still have a long way to go if we’re to tackle climate change and other environmental issues facing the planet.

“We are making some progress, thanks to Greta and the school strikes and Extinction Rebellion,” she said, referencing Thunberg’s Fridays for Future movement that prompted children around the world to go on strike from school to protest the lack of governmental action on the climate crisis.  ...

I agree that it is absurd but it should be seen in context of the wild exaggeration that characterises the environmental debate.. we can't just a solution, we must have the most extreme, difficult solution possible..

Such a tired and logically flawed argument.

So tired of the illogical wild rants and wants to be forcibly implemented without scientific basis............. guess what all so called new green tech wont exist without oil, gas and coal, massive amounts of oil, gas and coal are needed to make the fake green techs, there is no green tech whatsoever , fossils fuels will fuel (pun intended) any other forms of energy

unless people want to live in the stone age

That can't be argued against because we -currently- live in a fossil fuel fueled world.  Fossil fuels will fuel their own replacements.

Children were born into this so their efforts should not be considered hypocritical - make fun of DiCaprio if you have to.

The Big Issue should not be taken seriously it’s a zine that heroin addicts sell on the streets of British cities in order to buy more heroin.

Shes a good judge of young talent, too many substances abused she’s batty.

Just goes to show that age doesn't necessarily bring wisdom. Vivienne is obviously nuttier than a fruitcake!

Enthalpic - this argument basically makes no sense. Sure we're in a fossil fuel fuelled world - that's the point. Those who wish to lead us into another world should at least acknowledge the vast changes that such fuels have caused in ordinary lives, rather than crying over the matter or making a few, minor changes then claiming they are leading a carbon free life.. That's hypocrisy..
