Trump cancels Denmark visit amid spat over sale of Greenland

Recommended Posts

Can we now all agree that the man, who is on the verge of creating the second US-born global recession in 15 years, is mentally ill:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-49416740

When it all comes tumbling down - including oil prices - Trump will be rounding up the usual suspects (his speciality): Obama, the President of China, the Head of the Federal Reserve, business leaders who ignore his advice, immigrants, and, of course, the Democrats. And you’ll be defending him - the vocal Trump supporters on this forum, you know who you are - because history has taught that bad economy helps every nationalist sell their argument that the “good citizens” are the victims of sinister schemes.

No, I really do not think we can agree that he is mentally ill. You have a right to your opinion, but please do not assume that you can speak for the rest of us.

He is definitely different and says some odd things but he has conviction.

Conviction is good when used positively. There are plenty bad examples of leader with conviction.

Tommie If i was an American I think I would be very happy with what DT is doing, he is following the world trend towards the right wing and protectionism, what's the other options? Central Politics which don't resolve anything but tread water or we head left which in reality is hypocrisy and follows suit as protectionism mixed with rampant corruption. Brasil is a great model to see how communism fails at every step as in the end greed over powers any utopian dream of equality, its in our DNA were humans.

As I'm not an American I look at the situation sometimes with distain based on the comments and attitudes of mainstream citizens who have never been out of their current state let alone the country or fail to own a passport, its important to realise that the American Dream is alive and well.

I have many good friends from the land of hope and some on this forum but I don't agree with any world domination ideology, it's not healthy and it's apparent in both forms on each side of the trade war unfortunately.

Perhaps I am in denial or just jealous...

Meanwhile Brexit.......😀

I am not sure that it is fair to characterise Brasil under Lula or Dilma as communist.

In fact, I think I would go so far as to state that good governance is more important than economic philosophy.

I believe (therefore an opinion before everyone gets their knickers in a twist) that many people think Trump is different as they expect the President of the US to act like an experienced politician who tries to use diplomacy (which is often ineffective) to achieve his goals.

Americans were tired of the same lack of results from waffling politicians and elected a businessman to lead the country. If you try to shoehorn him into the 'politician' pigeonhole, he will definitely be 'different'.

Rasmus Hi,

It was most definitely a Communist Party - PT Partidos do Trabalhadores or Workers Party masquerading as Social Democracy.

Sorry to WIKI you but - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_Party_of_Brazil

Dilma Rousseff "Although Rousseff states that her political thinking has changed drastically – from Marxism to pragmatic capitalism – she remains proud of her radical roots.

Don't get me started on PT and Lula who is currently in Jail or Sergio Cabral who managed to almost bankrupt the state of rio de Janeiro https://www.ft.com/content/deaf3d80-507f-11e7-bfb8-997009366969 Cabrals PDMB whom acting president Michel Temer (After Dilma impeachment)  belongs to his currently awaiting his room being cleaned next to Lulas in Curitiba.

This country was destroyed by PT and we will not recover for some time.

Your point about good governance being more important the economic philosophy- Thats an contradiction in relation to Brasil's thieving Left wing Communist politicians- Your statement would be correct in a first world country.

Look up Jeitinho Brasileiro its a little quirk that most Brazilians have in their DNA- Its okay to steal and rob, this came from the worse breed that existed during the colonisation period- The Portuguese, basically Arab Gypsys with Shoes on, what happened the Portuguese came here and robbed and procreated and unfortunately that Portuguese gene is still prevalent.

I better stop now, I wish the British had colonised Brasil as do most Brazilians....

Currently facepalming which is turning into a full slapping lol........

Jair Bolsonaro with the help of MR Steve Bannon will get this country whipped into a state, he is currently being stifled by the the "Centrao" ( a mixture of weekend politicians who bent over and took one for Lula and are now backtracking), but if he cannot get leverage by the end of this first mandate, he will do the right thing and call in the military, this countries safest period was during the dictatorship, come down and take a trip through Rio, we have more people killed a day than Afghanistan by factions that PT assisted.

I think I may have a slightly bios opinion on this one, I can't even Vote here being British, but I still did my bit to rid this country of the red menace- I look like a British NF member , Possible denial again 🤔

Respectfully James

I disagree that the military and police will be able to fix the problems of the "favelas".

I can however appreciate the want to have something done if living in Rio (especially with family).

Yep the problem with the thieves is out of control, Rio is rife with stray bullets which are killing innocent people, its a bad situation when the bandits are better armed than the military or police.

Im impressed with your language skills as portuguese is really hard to learn if your nor immersed in the country or hearing the language spoken daily, I suppose that's the same with any language.

Nos estamos junto amigo.

@Tommie77 I’m with you all the way, DT is a raving maniac and he’s a danger to the world, personally I’m fine with the fact the he cancelled his trip to Denmark, he should never have been invited at all (hmmmm was he invited at all or did he invite himself). But hey we all just have to get through the next 16 month, then the moron will be history.

Not sure what the illness is but he certainly is suffering from delusions of grandeur. The pains only starting.

The issue with people on the far right and far left is that they are conditioned to only think in terms of “communist” and “racist” about anyone who sits on the other side of their spectrum.

Many people in Europe and the US are starting to fall for stigmatizing populists who make people believe that there is no middle ground. They fall for these “leaders” because they are discontent and angry. Because corporations have figured out that good people elsewhere do the same amount of work faster (because they work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week) and for 20% of the cost. Because the US-born, greed-indused 2007 recession created unprecidented challenges for Western families. Because they have a hard time adapting to the new reality. Because they are getting old and inflexible.

Every sentence that starts with the word “can”, means to ask a question, Douglas. Unless the the word “can” refers to a container, of course, which it did not.

But OK, you are obviously not yet completely convinced that he is mentally not right 😆.

Thanks for your reply.

Trump has threatened 3 separate countries with genocide. His own words on tweet. As the POTUS do you think his threats are appropriate.

Mother Teresa never threatened anyone. And mandella was no saint.

It takes a really ignorant view of reality to equate threatened retribution for a sneak attack to genocide.

By your (non existent) logic, starting with Eisenhower, every American president has "threatened countries with genocide". It's called mutually assured destruction dickfor and has been official US policy for decades.
