GOOGLE Announces Moving Pixel Smart Phone and Speaker Manufacturing OUT OF CHINA

Recommended Posts

(edited)

Aug. 28, 2019 : Google announces the Pixel Smart Phone will be moved to Vietnam and the Speaker mfg to Thailand.

There are at least 50 major manufacturers that have announced or are in the process of moving operations out of China.

This does not directly benefit the U.S. mfg,  but it is a powerful message to China trade negotiators. Make a deal or suffer the consequences.

China is apparently listening.

Those companies like APPLE have been complaining to the wrong person.  Trump is fighting the good fight.  Apple CEO COOK should complain to Chinese Communist Secretary General Xi Jinping. Tell him to trade fair.k

GOOGLE's announcement the day after China announced more tariffs SENDS A STRONG MESSAGE TO CHINA.

The U.S. farmers need to be taken care of.  Realize agriculture and farming exports to China approx $9 Billion a year out of U.S. $20 Trillion GDP

The trade war has hurt China 10X more than the U.S. China wants to stall till the 2020 elections ? Good luck with that. IF Trump loses  17 months till new President swarn in end of January 2021. Lot of damage will be done. Ouch !

Scare mongers try to get U.S. consumers to believe prices go up.  Not so, the Chinese devaluation of the yuan more than makes up for the tariff costs. No increase in prices.

U.S. will prevail in the trade war with Chinese.

After trade deal signed Oil Prices jump 10% . Everyone is happy.

So it's not helping the US...

But it is hurting the US... (and you want transfer payments to keep farmers support of trump)

and this is winning?

"An eye for an eye just leaves everyone blind."  In this case perhaps only China and the US go blind.  Everyone else can gain from trade realignments.

When you start seeing "made in America" on a product in walmart or dollar general then you can claim this has done anything but hurt.

100%

When it became apparent China was planning to hold out to the election he slammed them with the new tariffs.

When China increased tariffs Trump punched back with 5% increase.

Trump is holding the better hand.

Trump needs to fine tune the message. Just saying they take $500 Billion out of U.S. each year looks like sore loser. Trump or his surrogates needs to explain what they are doing. He needs to explain this is not a little tiff about soybeans but an existential threat to the future of the U.S. Tell the voters  (1) repeat the 7 sins of cheating, stealing and unfair trade practices by the Chinese Communist Party. (2) articulate the Chinese plan on World Hegemony (3)  the fact they had a deal 90% completed before CCP pulled out all the compliance provisions out at the last minute.  (4) let voters know China is not a Market Economy .

No one said it would happen overnight. Because something takes a while is no reason not to start. It's the reason you DO start at all.

Yep after a while people just hear a number but it needs putting in perspective, historically.

Yep I'm not even sure the average person knows this. Is that common knowledge in US or is it just trade talks on/off/on ... ?

True. but if you look at what is happening it doesn't appear to be heading in that direction at all.

Same attitude should be taken on environmental issues.

What's happening now to me is kinda irrelavant in the greater scheme of things. Trump is thinking of the USA in terms of decades ahead, I know you won't agree but I do believe that. This isn't about tit for tat shit, tariffs and f**k**g soy beans, it's literally about Planet Earth in 50-100 years and beyond.

I agree but there is debate often over what's man made issues and what's nature / planet life cycle etc. But what's blatantly us then yes.

The results as such may not be seen for decades. Again, don't wanna keep harping on about Trump, (as I'm English myself - it's not like I can vote for him) ,  but I believe the majority of these 'results' he may not even be around for. This is one of the reasons I admire what he is doing, which, as he is fond of stating, past presidents should have done.

And I've never had a Samsung so can't comment there  :)

Enphalic No "eye for eye"

China gave Trump a black eye

Trump blew CHINA'S head off

FairTrade Deal by year end.

Each additional month is killing China

China changed position from waiting Trump out till 2020 election to wanting a deal asap.

That's WINNING

LOL

Dunno about that, we'll see, but that's a metaphor and a half

Wow, hold your horses, you seriously think erasing a 400+ billion trade deficit will be painless? This is a strategic operation, not a tactical one.
