Europe Eyeing 50% Energy from Renewables by 2030

Another day, another study. Let's see how it goes. Germany can't pull the cart all the way alone, I'm guessing.

Addy is eyeing a few million in her retirement account by the end of 2018. It's nice to have dreams.

This is a pie in the sky meant to generate headlines. Not gonna happen.

a majority of European countries isn't even close to hitting this target yet... a lot needs to change in local and national politics within these nations to reach these targets by 2030.

The EU now gets over 30% of its electricity from renewable sources, up from 12% in 2000. At this rate, EU can potential increase the proportion of renewables to 50% by 2030!

In 2017 the EU got more electricity from non-hydro renewables than either gas or coal. 2012. coal and gas each generated twice as much power as non-hydro renewables in EU.
