Self-Flying Passenger Planes

Sounds like a sci-fi movie, Chinese drone maker EHANG has posted footage of the latest test flights of its EHANG 184 passenger-carrying all-electric autonomous aerial vehicle.

The cynic in me thinks this will never be commercially viable, but they did a test flight. Should airlines be worried?

This is unbelievable. Even the CEO took the flight--that's a show of confidence :)

I can't tell from the photo, but is she wearing some kind of protective helmet? Just thinking if she were to crash, it would be necessary.

How would batteries at that altitude fare? I mean, at certain freezing temperatures, don't batteries just underperform?

Well, it can't go that far, yet, but I see no reason why it's not going to be commercially viable soon enough.

I'm staying on the ground, thank you very much. Not just electric but autonomous? No way. No. No.
