And the coincidence is not lost on me, the timing of SpaceX and the flamethrower stunt, all shortly before Q4 release. Well played, Tesla!

Tesla stock is down almost 4% right now after results release (of course, after jumping yesterday on all the spacex stuff). The net result is about a wash. So I guess you're right: well played.

When are people going to wise up? Tesla is nothing but smoke and mirrors. This is not sustainable business practices. A novelty. Someday we'll all look back on Tesla's like we look at the Segway. Cool, but no thanks.

Well, Tesla may be burning through cash and reaping net losses quarter after quarter, but shareholders seem content so far. And the product does have a place in the market. That's why all the big automakers are working on EVs of their own. It needs subsidies and tax credits for now, but I think in the end this has a chance to work. And while the Tesla isn't super cool, it's infinitely cooler than the Segway (not saying much, I know).
