With California apparently attempting to copy the successful model of the Socialist Paradise of Venezuela, the California government is now pleading with its citizens not to throw eggs at the state electrical company workers while venting their frustrations at repetitive rolling electrical power blackouts.

Remember kids, chronic electrical power blackouts help reduce Climate Change Armageddon, which is due to end all human life on planet Earth in 11 years or so. 

Do your part by embracing persistent electrical power blackouts.  And by rejecting evil oil & gas, which will kill all of us.  Horribly.  In a Climate Change Armageddon frying pan filled with burning oil.  Literally hell on Earth.  Oil & Gas are *bad* mkay?

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is urging residents across the state to not threaten or harass workers with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) as angry customers continue to vent their frustrations about widespread power outages aimed at preventing wildfires.

Some PG&E workers have reported objects being thrown at them and damage to offices and company vehicles.

“They’re your community members. They send their kids to the same school you send your kids to,” Newsom said during a news conference in El Dorado County on Thursday. “They didn’t create this mess. They’re trying to fix it.”

The planned outages have impacted hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses. Earlier this month, PG&E cut power in portions of 17 counties in Northern California as concerns grew over strong winds.

Customers have taken out their anger on PG&E, with one office being vandalized with eggs and a utility truck being shot at in Colusa County.

In one case, Newsom said a worker on the way to inspect power lines was run off a road. The utility has described similar incidents in recent weeks where its employees were targeted.

“I know the anger’s there but please, please don’t take it out on the people in the field,” PG&E President Andy Vesey said Monday.  ...

Seniors at California complex ‘abandoned’ during blackout

NOVATO, Calif. — One woman in her 80s tripped over another resident who had fallen on the landing in a steep stairwell. Others got disoriented, even in their own apartments, and cried out for help.

At least 20 seniors with wheelchairs and walkers were essentially trapped, in the dark, in a low-income apartment complex in Northern California during a two-day power shutoff aimed at warding off wildfires.

Residents of the Villas at Hamilton in Novato, north of San Francisco, say they were without guidance from their property management company or the utility behind the blackout as they faced pitch-black stairwells and hallways and elevators that shut down.

“We were surprised by how dark it was,” said Pamela Zuzak, 70, who uses a walker to get around. “There was nothing, nothing lit. It was like going into a darkroom closet, pitch black, you couldn’t see in front of you.”

Pacific Gas & Electric Co. shut off power to more than 2 million people over the weekend to prevent its equipment from sparking fires amid hot, dry gusts. It was just one of four pre-emptive rounds of shutoffs imposed by the utility this month.

For a person who allegedly cares for the environment and the hype-lie of climate change sky is falling, she sure contributes a lot of CO2 and GHG's flying around in jets burning fossil fuels, and driving around and basically thriving on this planet because of fossil fuels. Does she fly on magic carpets made out of hemp? does she eat bugs and grasses that creep and crawl around and graze on grasses and noxious weeds like goats do? where does she stay @ nice hotels or in a hole in the ground? or a mud hut?

Since she has been shoved onto the scene and down people's throats, she has probably consumed and burned and emitted more fossil fuels, co2 and GHGs than the average teenager or person.

They would cut down all the forests so there would not be any more forest fires

They would fish all the fish out of the seas and rivers so the environmentalists would truly have something to whine about. 

They would throw their trash everywhere so the environmentalists would have something to whine about... oh right.... can't whine about all the homeless, I mean gosh, it takes someone to teach people by holding their hand properly and telling them not to defecate in the streets and throw trash everywhere.....  of course here the Chinese would help, as they would move in and kill off all the drug dealers and throw all the druggies into jail.... who just happen to be 95% of all the homeless.

The problem  for PG&E is that, at this point, it is cut off from the capital markets.  Without the ability to raise capital, it cannot even begin to tackle any of the structural issues that are currently being addressed by the rolling blackouts.  Meanwhile:

   "This is not the new normal and this does  not take 10 years to solve," Newsom said.

That remark was an apparent swipe at PG&E Corp. President Bill Johnson who said last month that utility customers could anticipate power outages for the next decade.

Unfortunately for Californians, it is indeed the "new normal."   NAture right now is busy undoing 100 years of fire-suppression ideology,  specifically the burning off the of accumulated century of fuel load.  And until the Governor recognizes this reality and someone, anyone, brings in the manpower to remove the accumulated woody material from the hills and forests, then nature will continue to burn it out. 

Meanwhile, I cannot see how the overhead wires can be protected against breakage and resultant fire-starting, absent the installation of intermediate towers in those overhead spans, to reduce the dead load on the hanging wire.  That implies a massive building exercise, which the now-bankrupt PG&E cannot even begin to tackle.   Thus, a State Takeover of the Company seems inevitable.

But here is the problem:  California is now utterly, hopelessly insolvent.  It is not in the bankruptcy courts as there does not seem to be a legal provision for a State to file for bankruptcy  (IF there were, both Illinois and New Jersey would have already done so, with Rhode Island and Connecticut right on their heels). So, since Cali cannot valve off its debt, and PG&E cannot valve off its debt short of dissolution, what is left is for the aggrieved burned-out homeowners to "eat it."  The losses cannot be socialized, as there is no one to pick up the tab. `

Will Gov. Newsom nationalize the power company?  Probably.  That is his mindset.  Will the new, nationalized company be able to provide power without rolling blackouts?  Of course not.  So, when all is said and done, the current company president knows more than the current Governor.  I remain unsurprised.

Conservative Californians Leaving In Droves For "America First, Law And Order" Red States

California conservatives are leaving the state in droves over what the LA Times describes as their "disenchantment with deep-blue California's liberal political culture," not to mention "high taxes, lukewarm support for local law enforcement, and policies they believe have thrown open the doors to illegal immigration."

Just over half of California’s registered voters have considered leaving the state, according to a UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll conducted for the Los Angeles Times. Republicans and conservative voters were nearly three times as likely as their Democratic or liberal counterparts to seriously have considered moving — 40% compared with 14%, the poll found. Conservatives mentioned taxes and California’s political culture as a reason for leaving more frequently than they cited the state’s soaring housing costs. -LA Times
