EU has already lost the Trump vs. EU Trade War

Interesting that you see the EU as an adversary. It confirms my impression that the only reason Trump doesn't like EU is because the prefers to negotiate with smaller entities where he has the upper hand...

Let's compare notes in a few years.

An economic adversary due to trade imbalances, the EU has been very protectionist in the past when it suits them and now the US is doing the same thing. All part of the changing world we're living in.

Although I did do two trades today (sold a swing equity for profit and bought more of a solid dividend payer).  Just a couple grand.

See? The Canadian Socialist is in reality a  hard-core capitalist, a  tight-fisted one advancing his own wealth at the expense of the Common Man.  Typical Canadian!   Hey, gotta pay for that heated driveway surface somehow.  Remember, folks: this is Edmonton, not Riviere-du-Loup, and capitalist principles Rule!   Ha!

Readers here may be mindful that currency exchange rates play a big role in the establishment of, or the deterrent to, international trade.

Yeah the other day capitalism was bad? Now trying to boast lol?

Can put it towards a decent car now then? And a Greta believer with heated driveway. He must confuse himself.

Some more of the moronic green hypocrisy.

Yep, I make money off money and eat food - I'm horrible.

Yes my driveway is heated, and I own a shitty car that is 10 years old with only 85,000KM on it.

My girlfriend booked flights to Vegas for next month, guess my boycott of the states will end without my choice; my brain, wallet, and liver will suffer but my penis will be happy.

It's not often you hear someone 'boasting' about going to Vegas. But hey, this is OilPrice, anything is possible.

Monte Carlo - yes. Macau - yes.  Vegas?  Hmm ... no

Assume you're flying too?

Another classic ''do as I say, not as I do'' - Leo style.

Have you told your girlfriend yet she isn’t going?

My comment was more to trade. The article seemed to make trade between US and Europe out to be a zero sum game. That was all. I should have been clearer. Sorry.

p.s. I believe in fair trade; fair as level playing field. So if a better balance is needed between US and EU fine by me.

You do realize that for decades, the EU has been charging a 10% tariff on US cars, while we've only been charging 2.5% tariffs? Does that sound "level" to you? It was also "conveniently" left out of this otherwise informative Article

Now, now, D.T., no need to be so harsh.  Remember that he is Canadian, so you do have to make some allowances!

We cut those guys lots of slack, so the floods of inferiority feeliungs don't get overwhelming!

Oh I'm seeing the inferiority trust me.

Hence the younger girlfriend comments.

Probably like the 20th time he's mentioned her?

LOL desperation

Nah.  It gets seriously cold up there, nothing to do, except lie in bed and boast a little bit.   Very Canadian.....😁

And then you have the James Bond approach  (seriously British, OK, Scots...):

"And how do you like your women?"

"I prefer them married."

"Oh?  And why is that?"

"It makes it less complicated!"     [Hey, it was in the movie]

You'd think he'd go somewhere in Canada seeing as it's apparently so amazing?

Nope. Vegas.

Classy.

The concept of Nationalism is a fading concept.

I would respectfully argue the absolute opposite although I might have misunderstood you.

I believe nationalism is surging across the Western World, even Trump described himself as a nationalist at a rally not so long ago.

I also believe the world is changing and there is no going 'back to normal'

Trump is most definitely, and most defiantly, a nationalist.

After observing global politics from SE Asia for almost 2 decades, my views may be a bit different.

Many Western countries seem to be heading closer toward globalism, and away from nationalism.

Trump is one of the most outspoken exceptions to this trend toward globalism.

P.S.  @Enthalpic have fun in Vegas.  DT is prolly just jealous, judging by his over-reaction  😁

Missed my three trips to Vancouver island already this year?  I do stuff... back country camped twice near mount Robson too (Berg lake).

You also missed the part where she booked it..

For our international readers who might not be aware of the Edmonton dating scene, there are a lot more women than men, so the girls go to great lengths to score.  Hey, buying some airline tickets is nothing.  Lots of competition up there.....

That's more BC than Edmonton.  Vancouver island has like 3 Hot woman for each man.

Vegas is also super cheap... direct return flights for two with 4 nights at a hotel is about $500.

You have obviously never been to Vegas.  Renting bicycles and riding Red Rock canyon and Herderson Mnt loop is super fun.
