@Rasmus Jorgensen would be wondering how the EU deals with these issues so comparatively well and these nations are also "democracies."

Not really. Well, atleast not anymore.

This forum has given me a pretty good grasp at American self-understanding and politics. Despite me actually thinking I already had this.

It was very much tongue in cheek given the regular references to you in particular when matters of Europe arise so apologies for any offence Mr Jorgensen.

Rasmus dreams of a strong EU and fairness within it, without all the bureaucracy.

And do you know what there is nothing wrong with that in my book.

I'm going to get a load of grief off @DayTrader now, damn it!

Quick question to posters/readers here regarding their understanding of hegemony as it seems to be referring to military/economic strength (via dominance and coercion) rather than societal/cultural means relating to ideas and moral leadership and these are vastly different senses.

If you regard DT as rational (one would desperately hope to say mature) nowadays perhaps the "ignore" function has served its purpose.

Is DT Donald Trump or DayTrader?Lol

Trump certainly isnt rational

I rather like DayTrader as he is witty, clever and clear in his thinking.

Dont agree with him all the time (EU + Brexit spring to mind) but generally he speaks logically and from the heart which I like☺️

I would recommend taking him off "ignore" if you have done so👍

No offence taken. Seriously.

I merely tried to say that you reap what you sow.

The rest of the world believes the second coming is as likely as flying pigs but Chinese food merchants have already achieved this: trust them not to be telling porkies!

You adore me and my views, who are you kidding? I've been backing you up damnit 🤣 !  How can you willingly ignore such wisdom?

Cheers. I try to despite my immaturity.

Who says I haven't?

It would be the lack of belief in anything that defies physics, common sense and the laws of the universe.

Little things like that. Sounds mad I know but let's go with it? See what happens?

Welcome to my cult.  ... la la la la

@remake it ... see, I'm rational.

You would rather we all ignored you, instead of just writing it all and at the last second change it to black?

I would agree wholeheartedly sir, it is rather refreshing to see logic and humour used as one. Sometimes his language is a little strong for my taste but I was the same at his age and see it as a sign of passion and / or further comedic value.

It would appear so sir and I am sure you had your reasons, but from the admittedly little I have seen of his, you will get nothing but an honest opinion, which unfortunately today is a rare virtue ...
