Amazon reaches $1.2 million settlement with EPA over illegal pesticide sales

Recommended Posts

Amazon has agreed to pay more than $1.2 million in administrative penalties as part of an agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that the agency says will protect consumers from hazards of illegal and misbranded pesticides sold by the online retail giant. The EPA said that it had found nearly 4,000 violations of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act on the site in an investigation that began in 2014. Investigators found that third-party vendors had been illegally selling foreign and mislabeled pesticides within the U.S.

it seems that Amazon is main polluter. Nowadays, you have to do something really bad to have this EPA come after you

I wish Scott Pruitt would roll back some of the restrictions on pesticides that actually work like Diazinon and DDT. You can still get some good stuff in Mexico.
