China Finds Oil In Asia’s Deepest Onshore Well

China’s efforts to boost oil and gas exploration in harsh-environment areas and challenging geological conditions could get a shot in the arm later this year when Beijing will open oil and gas exploration to foreign companies. As of May 1 this year, foreign companies will be able to explore and develop oil and gas fields in China without setting up a joint venture with a Chinese company – a rule until now.

Why don't you come in and pour the capital in and then we take it over if you manage to bring something to production. I wonder how many service companies would be willing to let their technology and operating secrets get stolen when they come there. China will take a long while to redeem its reputation.

If you pay and treat companies fairly, they will come. 
Then those other foreigners can add China oil to those expansionists US rape and pillage list of conquest. Hehe  It’s amazing how many countries need US tech then blame us for providing US tech. 

It’s weird there is no mention of the Russians. Do they not drill in extreme climate?

Perhaps they will show up. But their military producers already have the experience of having their technology stolen. The entire Russian arsenal is duplicated in China with lower costs and then compete with them in third party markets. So the Russians now condition any sale with (1) a very large order paid upfront. (2) an agreement on joint operations on a duplication program and its 3rd party sales, they even have joint developments now, like for Anti air and cruise missile systems where China's radar does better than the Russian original.
