Some good news finally

"We believe that climate change is real and we can do our part by reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, and we also believe it doesn't have to cost more to do it. We believe we're going to be on the right side of history on this issue," Patti Poppe ,Michigan utility's president and CEO told The Associated Press.

2040 isn't ambitious enough...but it is a start.

No one is against clean energy, it's just not affordable yet. The more the government mandates it and subsidizes it, the longer it will take to be cost effective.

I'm all in favor of clean energy...but only if/when it makes sense. But it still cant survive without subsidies

The more the government mandates it and subsidizes it, the longer it will take to be cost effective. In 1980's,  cell phone cost $8 a minute for a brick with a bag. If government got involved, we'd still be using it. Instead, invention and innovation and competition took over.

The coal industry will be gone by then anyway. Natural gas and renewables are cheaper and cleaner.

Clearly Consumers doesn't think so.
