The game is not over yet. If the US and Australia pull out of the 5 Eyes program, then it becomes a useless endeavor. This will have a knock-on effect with NATO.

You say that the US was blackmailing allies? How is that? A security concern is NOT blackmail.

Although it may be true that the risk could be contained or mitigated, why expose yourself to the risk in the first place?

China is known to be active in cyber warfare, so why even consider placing your national security at risk by allowing an adversary to install hardware or software into critical defense systems?
