Big six UK's energy companies routinely overcharging customers

The UK’s big six energy companies have been accused of dirty tricks after analysis by British media revealed that they are routinely charging customers almost exactly the same amount after switching them off controversial default tariffs. In the face of government's plans to impose a price cap on standard variable tariffs (SVTs), which more than half of energy customers are on despite their steep prices, companies such as British Gas, E.ON and SSE have pledged to phase out such tariffs and shift citizens onto better value fixed deals. But it appears they are not

Switched to one of the small independents and my bills have gone down by 30% at least. If they start to price more, I will just switch

The whole point of todays capitalism is not to compete. Competition lowers prices and margins. What capitalism wants is a monopoly

Well, four of the those big six energy suppliers are owned by foreign companies. Only thing domestic about it are taxes the government collect

just reading that USA is about to put a major export plant on line for Compressed Gas (Fracking) to the UK. You can say good by to high gas prices from Russia.

Using renewables is the most patriotic thing any nation can do. Why can't we use cheap, clean renewables and not rely on foreign countries. Solar, wind, tidal, geo thermal are now more economical than polluting gas, coal and nukes
