This thermal resonator generates electricity by harvesting energy from changes in temperature and it could power gadgets for years. The power source relies on fluctuations in temperature between day and night and electricity is created when one side of the device is hotter than the other. A proof of concept device was shown to generate 1.3 milliwats of power which is enough to power environmental sensors or communications systems.
