IATA wants to have 1 billion passengers transported on planes using a blend of jet fuel and biofuel by 2025. That's double the estimated number at the current rate of biofuel uptake. Biofuels are costlier than jet fuel, which means higher subsidies, of course. Also a lot of promotion work. Not sure it will work until producers make it cheaper...
