damirUSBiH + 327 DD March 7, 2018 According to data out this morning, the US trade deficit with China last year was $337 billion, up 9 percent from 2016! In his tweet from this morning President Trump said: " China has been asked to develop a plan for the year of a One Billion Dollar reduction in their massive Trade Deficit with the United States. Our relationship with China has been a very good one, and we look forward to seeing what ideas they come back with. We must act soon!". Maybe, I'm not good with math, but with a $1 billion decrease per year, this plan would end the trade deficit by 2393?
franco + 96 FM March 7, 2018 Would not even so that, would just reduce by less than 1/3 of a percent. And not in a cumulative fashion.

Definitely, some problem with your math. 2018. + billion per year (337 billions) = 2355.

damirUSBiH + 327 DD March 7, 2018 Thx. Problem is in numbers. First of all I found $375B, but later I found $337B... And made mistake.
Pavel + 384 PP March 7, 2018 A trade war with China would mean a big risk for U.S. top businesses.
franco + 96 FM March 8, 2018 They've got a plan for domination, both financially and militarily. Their currency and trade practices are burying countries they trade with in debt. So, China is a serious threat in any case.
