Marina Schwarz + 1,576 March 9, 2018 The European Union will consider imposing import tariffs on U.S. orange juice, peanuts, cranberries, and--wait for it--bourbon. That's in response to the steel and aluminium tariffs Trump announced yesterday. However will we cope without affordable bourbon I shudder to think and I don;t even want to mention orange juice. We are doomed (because Greece, Spain and Portugal are not in Europe and they don't produce oranges). So is Trump, I'm sure. Talk about disproportional retaliation. Carlsbad + 19 CB March 9, 2018 This whole thing is going to backfire badly, I think. Americans in the manufacturing industries are going to lose jobs. That's what happened with Bush imposed a 30% steel tariff in 2002. To many users are going to take a hit and that will far outweigh the benefits to the steel industry.
