The Dwarf Helps The Giant: Iceland Signs $250M Deal With China

Recommended Posts

Iceland signed the biggest deal in its history to provide the world’s second-largest economy with the technology it needs to deliver clean, geothermal heat. The agreement affects up to 15 million people in Xiong’an, a new economic area southwest of Beijing established by President Xi Jinping. With more than 100 volcanoes, Iceland has become a world leader in geothermal technology. The heat produced from the Earth’s core not only doesn’t pollute, but is also cheap. So cheap, in fact, that Iceland can afford to heat sidewalks in its biggest cities.Iceland is world leader in geothermal heat.

The biggest criticism of the Paris Accords was that it won't force China to change...well they have advanced far beyond what is expected.

With more than 100 volcanoes, Iceland is producing the cheapest energy directly from Earth's core..Own natural resources have been used to the maximum.

Small but smartest country on the world. Iceland is estimated to have saved $100M on import costs of fossil fuels, as they are one of three countries to use 100% renewable energy. Iceland = 100% Top club of renewable.

Geothermal energy in Iceland and hydropower in Norway are due to favourable natural circumstances very reliable for using. Undeniable advantage of fossil fuel is that they can be used by anyone, anywhere. The ease of storage and transportation of fossil fuels is probably key to their dominance among energy sources.

Iceland is a tiny country with a tiny population sitting on a boiling cauldron of steam. This is not an example that can be replicated very many other places on earth. They use the best what they have.
