CMOP + 227 April 4, 2018 Spanish company Prodiel has been selected by Mexico's Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB de CV (BMV:IENOVA), or IEnova, to construct its 144-MW Pima Solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant. Located near the city of Caborca in the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora, the solar park will use almost 440,000 solar panels and is expected to produce more than 293 GWh per year. The plant will be built over a 10-month period, with commercial operation scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2018. In March last year, IEnova struck a deal to sell the power from the solar park to steel company Deacero SA de CV under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
