CMOP + 227 April 13, 2018 US tariffs against China could ultimately hurt American producers of NGLs due to retaliatory tariffs on the imports of petrochemical feedstocks. China plans to impose an extra 25% duty on US imports of propane, which would likely have a chilling affect on imports. Chinese buyers are likely to switch to Middle East supplies if tariffs are imposed. This isn't good seeing that China is by far the largest market for US NGLs and the market has grown explosively since the onset of the shale gas boom.
