Marcin2 + 726 MK June 15, 2020 The new Chinese prayer from the title of this thread is everywhere, like some God blessing which is so familiar for me. I read a lot of statistics, also Chinese statistics and I observed that each press release relating to performance of Chinese economy needs this prayer embedded. I do not know what such communications mean in Chinese culture. Is it the normal way of showing respect for Chinese emperors or it is something more. What was the practice under Mao. In European culture such blessings and prayers are reserved for God.
Yoshiro Kamamura + 274 YK June 16, 2020 Well, Marcin, it's not very sensible to impose the customs of your monotheistic religion to other cultures, isn't it. It's not that long time ago, if you paid attention in your history classes, that British warships forced the Chinese to allow trading of British opium on Chinese territory, which resulted in death of many, many Chinese. Others were killed by British colonial forces during various uprisings. China was supposed to be treated like other third world countries - stripped of sovereignty, and natural resources. You know what, it's entirely possible that they hold a grudge, you yourself are also not very fond of Russians, right? Why don't you ask someone from China.
