Alberta Wants to Move More Oil by Train

Alberta's energy minister is meeting with oil producers and the two biggest railway operators in the province to negotiate more oil train capacity. All because of the lack of pipeline capacity. So, opponents to pipelines are implicitly supporting the much more dangerous railway oil transport, which is borderline insane for me. Lac-Megantic anyone?

Lunacy.

The "keep oil in the ground" crowd is who is causing this insanity, by their hysteria over any new pipelines.  Moving oil by trains is more expensive, and not nearly as safe as pipelines.
