Douglas Buckland + 6,308 July 3, 2020 Source: AP Photo/Ted S. Warren The last few weeks have provided plenty of support for the political positions traditionally espoused by conservatives. Some of the evidence is so painfully obvious it's hard to believe there could be any dispute about it. And yet, disputes there are. In fact, the divisions in this country seem deeper than ever. As we approach the November election and beyond, it is vital that we understand the lessons current events teach us about what we're facing in our future. Here's a short and (very) incomplete list: 1. Our governments are shockingly weak. COVID-19 has revealed that the twin pillars of some city and state governments are hypocrisy and cowardice. Rules put in place to prevent the spread of the virus were strictly enforced when the would-be violators were Orthodox Jews and other worshippers, small-business owners and skateboarders. Ill and elderly people died alone, their loved ones forbidden from visiting them in hospitals and long-term care facilities. These sacrifices, we were told, were necessary to keep the public safe. But when the George Floyd protests exploded into the streets across the country, the narrative changed. "Social justice" became an exception to the infection rules, as if the virus would somehow distinguish between irate Black Lives Matter activists and frolicking beachgoers. Worse, the riots, arson, violence and secessionist colonies in major cities were allowed to take place with virtually no interference from law enforcement -- often at the express directive of city government. Statues and monuments were vandalized or torn down. Buildings were burned. Businesses were destroyed. People were harassed, assaulted, raped, shot and killed. All of this was done with impunity and under the watchful eye of governments that did nothing, for fear of being called "racist." The clear message is that rules are only enforced against the law-abiding, but the government will let you do whatever you like if it is afraid of you. 2. Never give up your Second Amendment rights. Is it not obvious now? The Second Amendment was not written to enshrine hunting as a protected constitutional right; it was written so citizens could protect themselves from oppressive government. Or, in our case, perhaps, weak and feckless government that allows criminals free reign. The chaos in Seattle, Portland, New York City and Washington, D.C., drove the point home that private citizens are on their own and can expect neither government nor law enforcement to help protect their lives and property. That will double when police are "defunded." 3. The media is relentlessly biased and deceitful. As exhibit A of the above, St. Louis attorneys Mark and Patty McCloskey made national news earlier this week when they confronted a group of protesters on their property in a heated exchange. The McCloskeys were armed, and the press was quick to cast them as the wrongdoers overreacting to "peaceful protesters." (As if we haven't watched riots and arson for the past three weeks characterized by the press as "protests.") Mark McCloskey and his attorney had to point out that the protesters had trespassed on private property, breaking down a wrought-iron gate to obtain access to their home, and that some of the protesters were armed and threatened the McCloskeys with violence. 4. No one can survive the ideological purity tests that are being administered to justify tearing down statues and monuments. And, in truth, they're not meant to. The attacks started with Confederate soldiers but quickly moved to the Founding Fathers (Washington and Jefferson), to presidents (Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Ulysses S. Grant) and even to Jesus Christ and his mother. The battle is really one to tear down Western civilization -- democracy, capitalism and Judeo-Christian values -- and replace it with a Marxist state. If you don't think this is their goal, you're not listening to them. 5. Ah, Marxism! The only example of perfect diversity. No matter where it has been tried, or by whom, Marxist regimes have failed spectacularly. Whether installed by whites (Russia and the rest of Eastern Europe in the old Soviet Union), Asians (China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, North Korea), Hispanics (Venezuela, Cuba, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Peru) or Blacks (Angola, Congo, Ethiopia, Somalia), Marxism invariably promises equality and utopia, and equally invariably results in government oppression, corruption, starvation, torture, imprisonment and death on a massive scale. 6. The highest praise for Marxism comes from those who have never lived under it. History shows that academics and the press in free countries (as opposed to those in the Marxist countries themselves) continue to praise and tout Marxist regimes, even when they are aware of their brutality. True of The New York Times in the 1930s. True of the New York Times today. 7. Yes, it can happen here. Historian Crane Brinton noted in his classic work "Anatomy of a Revolution" that the American Revolution was the only one of the four major upheavals he addressed that did not have a "Reign of Terror." But for all their criticism of the Founding Fathers, today'srevolutionaries seem to have a greater penchant for bloodshed, as we've seen with the antifa movement, violence in the lawless "occupied" zones, signs that say things such as "Murder Andy Ngo" (an independent journalist), the trending #FrenchRevolution hashtag on Twitter, a guillotine in front of Jeff Bezos' home and an enraged Ivy League student threatening to stab anyone who defends the universal importance of all lives. 8. It isn't about President Donald Trump. Those seeking to destroy the United States were committed to that objective before Trump was elected. They'll be just as committed when he's gone. Trump is obnoxious to them because he doesn't fear them or seek to mollify them like so many other politicians. They want a weak president who will capitulate to them as so many mayors and governors have done. We can't give them that. 3 10 3

Jan van Eck + 7,558 MG July 3, 2020 8 hours ago, Douglas Buckland said: The clear message is that rules are only enforced against the law-abiding, but the government will let you do whatever you like if it is afraid of you. Thank you for this elegant compilation. Without in any way inferring inaccuracy or detraction from the thematic elements, I would add a few items.  First, governments consist of bureaucrats. Bureaucrats by their nature are Rules people, even when the Rules make no sense, even when the Rules are contradictory, even when the Rules are destructive. The Rules take on their own life and momentum, and thus must be obeyed no matter the folly, and no matter the consequences. I think you will find that to be universal, no matter the presumptive governmental structure. Second, governments are shockingly able to respond to challenges to "the Rules" with spectacular violence. Murder by government is commonplace. In the USA and Canada, such murders tend to be disparate, a few here, one there, so you don't see the large-scale murders that you find in say China. But the murders are very much there. For example, I posit the governmental response to David Koresh, an acknowledged kook using "religion" as a cover for his psychopathy. The Govt was afraid of him, so it conducted a BATF raid, which turned into a gun battle, and the BATF was beaten. At that point, the FBI surrounded the place and brought in tanks. Now, Koresh had a "muscle car," which he liked to drive around. That thing ran on gasoline. There was nothing to stop the BATF from picking him up with two undercover men down at the Seven-Eleven, hey he had to get gasoline at some point. That would have been easy. But the BATF bureaucrats felt threatened by his challenge to "the Rules," to their authority structure, and determined to make a spectacular example of him. So, raid time. The FBI got impatient and asked Janet Reno for permission to storm the compound. Reno was a peculiar woman; she never married, apparently, and never had any children. A Mom would not allow heavily armed men to storm a building in which there were at least 82 women and children. She did. The alternative would be for the FBI to bring in bulldozers, dig a dirt wall around the entire acreage, install barbed wire, and declare it a Federal Prison - with Koresh inside. But the FBI gun nuts don't do that, instead they go kill you. And they did. The upshot was the death of 27 little children below the age of six. By anybody's standard, other than of Janet Reno, that is mass murder. She murdered those people in your name, and in the name of the American People. Would you stand for that? I wouldn't.  I spoke with Koresh's attorney three days after his death, in the bonfire of the compound where he burned to death, and the attorney informed me that surrender negotiations were just about complete, that Koresh would likely have come out within the day. But that was not really to the FBI's taste; they wanted to kill him. And they did.  Governments generally, as you correctly point out, beat up on the weak. They do that because it can be done with impunity. I point to the debacles down on the Florida beaches, where the US Govt policy towards Haitian refugees ["boat people"] was "wet foot, dry foot." If you were intercepted by the authorities' men with "wet feet," i.e. still in the surf, then you did not qualify for asylum or refugee status; if you made it to the beach itself, viz. "dry foot," then you would be taken to a Red Cross shelter and processed as an asylum-seeker. So there was this spectacle of the members of the Coast Guard beating. literally beating, the half-dead refugees in the surf, whacking them with fire hoses, to push them back onto their tire-tube rafts to go - where, exactly? Drift up the Gulf Stream to Halifax?  Maybe to Ireland? And this is what happens when governments are taken over by bureaucrats obsessed with "the Rules." How on earth do these Coast Guard commanders let themselves get into this situation? It boggles the mind. But they did. So: put the high-pressure fire hoses on those boat people, blast them away from the shore! Let the sharks deal with them. Forget the Statue of Liberty. Then again, the Boat People were half-dead anyway, their survival time would be measured in hours, so hey, they are unarmed, cannot fight back, represent zero threat, so go ahead and kill them all. Sounds good to the Coast Guard.  Equally, city governments are useless, but will act with viciousness if the bureaucrats working there sense you are weak. So they will tow your car off to some impound lot for extortion payments if you have outstanding parking tickets, and if it gets banged up, too bad, so sad. And if you cannot pay your water bill, as happened to numbers of poor blacks in Baltimore, Maryland, the City will put a tax lien on your house and go sell it off to tax scavengers, those parasites from the suburbs that then take title to your house for less than $400 and go flip it for their personal gain. The tax parasites are the minor-league version of US Bank, and Goldman Sachs, and Deutsche Bank, and JP Morgan Chase, the parasite pretender lenders that will steal the houses of the disadvantaged on claims of unpaid Notes - notwithstanding that they do not own the Note, never paid for any debt, and whatever they get from selling the place will be booked as revenue, and not as a settlement of a debt, because they have no such debt on their books, and never did. And the States are cowards in that they let the "too big to fail" bankers do that, because they are terrified that if the bankers are held to account, then their budget deficit financing (revenue anticipation notes) will be shunned by Wall Street, and they will be unable to pay their own bills with money that they do not have, and have no hope of ever having. Skipping over your other points, I would also note that it is slightly inaccurate to conclude that the American Revolt against the British did not end with internal civilian violence. Only a very small minority of the US population actually supported the Revolt - perhaps one-sixth (16%). A good number were "Tories," or "Loyalists," and another large number were fence-sitters, who did nothing either way. The Tories were ethnically cleansed after the hostilities were over, driven out of their homes, some murdered, put pushed onto long marches up to Canada or by boat to Halifax. The Tories lost everything, excepting perhaps their dignity and their own love of country - the country of allegiance, England. Ethnic cleansing is always wrong - an abuse of fundamental human rights, no matter where it takes place. It is just as wrong when the Zionists do it in the West Bank against the Palestinians, as when the militias of George Washington do it against the Tories. Wrong is wrong. The new Americans definitely did not take the high ground, after the surrender at Yorktown. Something to ponder. 3 1

Yes there were killings, primarily because there had been a nasty war with killings on both sides and the word traitorous bandied about by both sides with equal relish. It was a different time then, you could still be killed with impunity by an Englishman in the British realm. My great great uncle was murdered by an Englishman because he refused to sell him his horse. Of course he got off "Scot free" and didn't even pay the widow the 5 pounds for the horse he took. That's what it was like to be under the British (Brutish) boot in Ireland at the same time, so who, exactly loved the British system? Why those who personally benefited of course. Those Tories who wanted things to stay the way they were, were the top of the food chain. They left for Canada because they knew they were Never going to succeed in a meritocracy. 1 1

"Democrats allowed Jim Crow." That's probably true, too. But which "Democrats" are you referring to? Are people claiming the "Democrats" of the 1860s are the same as the Democrats of the 2020s? Seriously? The word "Democrat," like the word "Republican" or the word "Bob" is just a word. It means different things in different contexts. Are we to claim all Bobs are evil, just because one particular Bob 50 years ago turned out to be a serial murderer? 3. "People" aren't interested in much of anything other then getting through the next day, despite claims here otherwise. Think of yourself: what do you do most of the time? Answer: eating, shitting, working, sleeping, and "interneting." Almost everyone else is the same. No one is particularly interested in destroying anything, other then that annoying dude online that you don't like. Think of how you spend your time, and that's a good approximation of how many other people are spending their time, too.  Point is: there's a lot of assholes in the world: Republicans, Democrats, Russians, Canadians, etc.. How these assholes interact with one another effects the outcome. But what there isn't is some mythical "evil" force out to destroy America/Trump/whatever.  The Original Complete List Of The 45 Declared Goals For The Communist Takeover Of America Submitted By Greg Swank 12-4-2 You are about to read a list of 45 goals that found their way down the halls of our great Capitol back in 1963. As you read this, 39 years later, you should be shocked by the events that have played themselves out. I first ran across this list 3 years ago but was unable to attain a copy and it has bothered me ever since. Recently, Jeff Rense posted it on his site and I would like to thank him for doing so. http://www.rense.com Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963  Current Communist Goals EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Thursday, January 10, 1963 .  Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America. At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen: [From "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen]  1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.  2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.  3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.  4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.  5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.  6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.  7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.  8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.  9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.  10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.  11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)  12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.  13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.  14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.  15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.  16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.  17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.  18. Gain control of all student newspapers.  19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.  20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.  21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.  22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."  23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."  24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.  25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.  26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."  27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."  28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."  29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.  30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."  31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.  32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.  33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.  34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.  35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.  36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.  37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.  38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].  39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.  40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.  41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.  42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.  43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.  44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.  45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike. https://bolenreport.com/saul-alinskys-12-rules-radicals/ Saul Alinsky’s 12 Rules for Radicals… https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/01/the_frankfurt_school_and_cultural_marxism.html The Frankfurt School and Cultural Marxism By Paul Gottfried

Well yeah. As it happens, there's a lot of assholes on your side, too, doing the exact same shit you're accusing the assholes on the other side of doing. As i said: it's a bunch of assholes accusing other assholes of being assholes. That's all this is. I don't have side as I didn't have the right to vote in the last election. If you say the GOP, yes there were many many years of politicians and I am against that and asking for terms limit for these. See my comment right after that. Do you call BLM or AntiFA lobbyists or they are funded "activists"? In your definition terrorists may be activists/lobbyists as well just different objectives? The current asshole in "my side" this year were a brutal police kneeled on a black man to dead.Or the couples holding gun to protect their property from the trespassing of the "peaceful" protesters who tore their iron gate down. I didn't see KKK or white armed men  shoot at the CHOP as well but many time the CHOP shot others. So how are these actions are comparable? Both sides have the shits were/are being used in many dictators or totalitarian regimes propaganda whenever people want democracy "like the Western countries". The response will always be "We have this problems but the Western have theses too", why would you think only you realize that? It is the differences of scale/expectation/justice/constitution that matters. Compare both sides shit and choose the less stinky one is the main meaning of any democracy election. What do you expect? Wombat + 1,028 AV July 4, 2020 20 hours ago, Jan van Eck said: Thank you for this elegant compilation. Jan, you are a highly intelligent man. Why do you write such anti-semitic rubbish? Anti-American too? America does not need to apologise for it's past, you have one of the cleanest histories of any great power, and you should celebrate it today of all days. Ward, it is the British that made America great, Canada, Australia and New Zealand too, not the Irish!
