The Mckluskeys committed the unpardonable sin of defending their property because the police were following "stand down" orders from their leftist politicians in St Louis. My perception of policing is different as large areas of Canada are policed by the RCMP, not municipal or provincial agencies.

I've moved to Fort Saskatchewan (northeast of Edmonton) and the difference in policing is drastic between RCMP and Edmonton city police.  I can only imagine the differences are much more extreme among the various states and cities. The RCMP in this area could use some defunding... cops everywhere just working traffic.

Thank you for ferreting this out and publishing here.  I had rather dourly felt that the exercise of wearing masks was more a function of street theater than anything that would seriously contain any viral spread. 

The distribution of true cases is apparently a lot smaller than at first feared by many (including me).   Looking at the latest numbers from the State of Vermont, we have (out of a State of roughly 625,000 persons living here) a total of 1,053 recorded infections, and 53 deaths.  Those are low numbers.  Yet everyone is out there with these cloth masks on, all day long, and obviously they get saturated with viral matter and all damp and soggy soon enough, thus a great resting area for the viral matter.  For persons who are not coughing or sneezing, the masks might well do more to spread than to attenuate the disease spread, which would be ironic. 

The other problem is with "mass testing" itself.  Here in Vermont that is done by having the patients queue up in their cars, in a long row. One by one the cars get to the test point, the window is rolled down, and the tester, encased in mask and nitrile plastic gloves, leans in and shoves this long probe into the back of the driver's nose, where it is swabbed around for perhaps 20 seconds.  Let us assume that the subject is Covid-positive, infected but asymptomatic.  Ramming that swab stick up into the nose is sure to provoke some form of sneeze.  The droplets now are propelled onto the outside of the gloves of the tester.  That car leaves; the next rolls up.  The tester has to lean in to do the swab in the nose on that fellow, and he leans up against the top of the car door with his gloved hand to steady himself.  Except the glove itself is now contaminated - and these guys are not changing gloves or masks between testing subjects, not enough to go around.  By the time you get to subject #46, that tester is going to have some infectious material on him, and everyone after that is going to have a nice buffet of viral matter all over his driver car door area.  He gets home, opens the door, touches the various surfaces - and bingo,  he is now contaminated. 

The testing protocol in those mass tests might well be unwittingly spreading the disease. That strikes me as gruesome.  Another good reason to stay away from those testing sites if you have no symptoms - what is it going to tell you that 20 days sitting at home is not going to cure, anyway?

I could not agree with you more. Anyone who has ever taken a single microbiology course knows how easily Serratia marscesens is spread, and this virus is probably many times more contagious.

FOX 35 found that testing sites like Centra Care reported that 83 people were tested and all tested positive. Then, NCF Diagnostics in Alachua reported 88 percent of tests were positive.

How could that be? FOX 35 News investigated these astronomical numbers, contacting every local location mentioned in the report.

The report showed that Orlando Health had a 98 percent positivity rate. However, when FOX 35 News contacted the hospital, they confirmed errors in the report. Orlando Health’s positivity rate is only 9.4 percent, not 98 percent as in the report.

“The report also showed that the Orlando Veteran’s Medical Center had a positivity rate of 76 percent,” added FOX 35. “A spokesperson for the VA told FOX 35 News on Tuesday that this does not reflect their numbers and that the positivity rate for the center is actually 6 percent.”

The outlet added:

“FOX 35 News went on to speak with the Florida Department of Health on Tuesday. They confirmed that although private and public laboratories are required to report positive and negative results to the state immediately, some have not. Specifically, they said that some smaller, private labs were not reporting negative test result data to the state.”

FOX 35’s Robert Guaderrama is awaiting a response from state officials regarding the health department’s errors:

 

Florida has a statewide positivity rate of 12.5 percent, according to the state’s latest claims of 266,119 “confirmed cases” among Florida residents against a state population of nearly 21.5 million.

I was talking with my brother back in Illinois today.  He told me that the State's position on testing was that a person was perceived to have the virus until their test results came back in, meaning a 100% positivity reading at time of testing.  The State's intention is to then subtract the negative results back from the lab after 4 days, but there is no evidence that they are doing so.  Therefore, some States such as Illinois and Florida are reporting "record numbers of infections" these days, with minimal corresponding hospitalization and/or death rate increases.

To your second point, here's something that happened to a friend of mine. He was an energy trader and figured out that Enron was screwing everyone. He made trades that capitalized on that knowledge. Later when the SEC had egg all over their face for not knowing what was going on with Enron they came down hard on him, using an argument exactly like yours. Since he hadn't reported it he was part of it. His company paid the fine and he wasn't allowed to trade anymore. He quit, sued everyone and made bank. That was a crap argument by the SEC.
