Marina Schwarz + 1,576 May 11, 2018 “We understand and value the discussion around Google Duplex — as we’ve said from the beginning, transparency in the technology is important,” a Google spokesperson told The Verge in a statement this evening. “We are designing this feature with disclosure built-in, and we’ll make sure the system is appropriately identified. What we showed at I/O was an early technology demo, and we look forward to incorporating feedback as we develop this into a product.” I've missed the outrage but it certainly sounds creepy to talk to a bot that doesn't tell you it's a bot. Not sure if talking to a bot that introduces itself as a bot isn't even creepier, though.
Sofia + 35 SP May 17, 2018 I personally would like to know if I'm talking to a bot since these Google bots sounds like humans. Not even close to those machines we are talking to every time we call bank or hospital. But are they able to answer on more complex questions?
