It's wrong to believe that only the developed economies are adopting renewable energy. The trend is global. But too many forecasts are still wrongly assuming that developing countries will be using coal for long because they cant' afford costly renewables. Today in India coal-powered power plants can't compete with renewables. China is investing massively in solar and wind and is leading the EV revolution. Brazil solar capacity is increasing ... SLL + 24 SL May 16, 2018 2 GW? Isn't that like 3 gas plants? Sounds like a drop in the load bucket. I am sure that those 2GW cost 2-3 time more than those gas plants would have, though.
