If you believe that, then you truly have gone around the bend.  "Deniers" as you claim, will donate for science, not BS propaganda and why you see zero "right wing denier" propaganda, but rather singular individuals slaughtering the climate scaremongers with their own so called "science".

Moores whole plug line is political. I would agree environmental position is not necessarily left or tight but Moores approach to everything is. When hes Shilling lefties thats fine but when he smells the money and switches sides then he is on the ball eh? 

As Meredith points out the film is so bad, out of context and out of date you have to wonder if its actually a parody.

The film is targetted at people with really low IQ's and no ability to actually sniff out BS. 

it states renewables - notably wind and solar consume more energy to produce than they generate. In reality the typical EROEI for solar is about 25 and for wind 40

What money?  Moore gets his $$$ from the left.  The right does not give money to environmental action committees... Irregardless of the fact of all the shills getting 10's of billions from the government who claim that somehow a few centrists/righties who either do something entirely on their own dime or somehow manage to scrap up a million or couple hundred thousand are propaganda...

The BS in that film is palpable. He claims that he couldn't find anyone in the environmental movements that opposed Biomass / biofuels (from virgin material). Virtually everyone within a broad spectrum of environmental groups are opposed to this whether its chopping down Southern state forests to burn in European power stations or chopping down rain forests and replacing them with Palm Oil plantations. 

What started as a move to use materials that otherwise would end up in Landfill as a fuel has been hijacked by big business

Ivanpah will most likely go the way of Crescent Dunes solar plant.  One of the computers at Ivanpah had a bit of a hiccup and turned mirrors that caused a large fire at one of the 40' boiling towers. For $2.2 billion I'd say 350,000 garage size mirrors which ignite and kill wildlife flying into intense beams of light (streamers) and covers 3500 acres to generate 392MW is a hatchet job alright, to the taxpayers.

Solar thermal at utility scale was a experiment that has largely failed. Its been super-ceded by PV which is far cheaper, more reliable and easier to deploy in modular form. 

All development paths have casualties along the way (vertical wind turbines another example). However I am sure a lot was learnt from these and can be applied to other developments in the field.

I agree, I'd say "don't try it again".  Crescent Dunes was based on the same technology and failed, so what do they do, build Ivanpah. After spending over $1 Billion on Crescent Dunes you'd think, well let's not try that again, but hell no, let's do it again and spend $2.3 Billion - so, what is the point.  What did they learn?  Not much it seems.
