Jeffrey Brown + 208 JB February 15, 2021 (edited) As Senator Sasse noted, the "Weird worship of one dude" continues to be a factor in American politics, and as the Trump true believers work to rid their ranks of those who will not join them on bended knee to their Dear Leader, I suspect that the GOP can look forward to more electoral outcomes like the two special Senate elections in Georgia. As I noted up the thread: You guys are clearly in the Delusional Wing, i.e., Trump wing, of the GOP, where people persist in believing things that are simply not true. McConnell, et al in are in the Reality Wing of the GOP, as evidenced by McConnell's post-Impeachment trial comments regarding Trump, where he basically invited prosecutors to attempt to "Lock him up." Jeffrey Brown + 208 JB February 15, 2021 (edited) WSJ* Editorial: Trump’s Non-Vindication https://www.wsj.com/articles/trumps-non-vindication-11613342554?mod=hp_opin_pos_3 He may run again, but he won’t win another national election. *Once upon a time, the WSJ Editorial Page writers were among Trump’s strongest supporters The Senate failed Saturday to convict Donald Trump on the single House impeachment article of inciting an insurrection, but the 57-43 vote was no vindication. The statements by Senators who voted to acquit make clear that he escaped conviction mainly—perhaps only—because he is no longer President. Seven Republicans joined every Democrat in the most bipartisan conviction vote in history. While short of the 67 votes needed to convict, most Republicans didn’t defend Mr. Trump’s words or actions on Jan. 6 or his attempts to overturn the election. As we’ve written before, Mr. Trump’s behavior was inexcusable and will mar his legacy for all time. That was the essence of Sen. Mitch McConnell’s post-trial remarks. The GOP leader voted against conviction but explicitly because he said the Constitution reserves the impeachment power only for Presidents while in office. . . . But Mr. McConnell was lacerating in his criticism of Mr. Trump’s words and actions, which he blamed for deceiving and motivating supporters who had assembled on Jan. 6 at the President’s urging and became a mob. “Former President Trump’s actions that preceded the riot were a disgraceful, disgraceful dereliction of duty,” Mr. McConnell said. “There’s no question—none—that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.” He added that the rioters had been “fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on Earth–because he was angry he’d lost an election.” All of this was compounded by Mr. Trump’s failure to act with dispatch to call off the rioters once he heard what was happening. . . . Mr. Trump’s Jan. 6 early-afternoon comments to House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy dismissing a plea to call off the rioters, as related second-hand by GOP Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, are further evidence of Mr. Trump’s dereliction. As Mr. McConnell also noted, Senate acquittal does not absolve Mr. Trump of potential criminal or civil liability for actions he took in office. As for the seven GOP Senators who voted to convict, they deserve respect for their independent judgment. As Edmund Burke famously explained to the Bristol electors in 1774, “It is his duty [as a Member of Parliament] to sacrifice his repose, his pleasures, his satisfactions, to theirs; and above all, ever, and in all cases, to prefer their interest to his own. But his unbiassed opinion, his mature judgment, his enlightened conscience, he ought not to sacrifice to you, to any man, or to any set of men living.” Senators Ben Sasse and Pat Toomey in particular offered explanations rooted in constitutional principle. Local or state GOP committees that vote to censure them are playing into the hands of Democrats, whose goal has been to divide Republicans over loyalty to one man—Donald Trump. The Dems have laid open the gates for any and all investigations of anyone in government, or in past governments. Donald Trump has the supporters, the resources and, shall we say, the appetite for such endeavors. And he can take the heat off of conservatives in office by doing it largely from outside the government. That means they can, and IMHO will, pursue them with criminal charges, not some petty government slap on the wrist. Katy bar the door! And let's get the popcorn ready, dear. Fantasy Trump has no support, essentially no lawyers will work for him. Did he even pay Rudy's bill yet? Trump is also broke, property values, travel / tourism , and the popularity of golf is way, way down. Furthermore, his "brand" -where he places most of his net worth- is also in the toilet. You also know that short of a citizen arrest Trump has no power to pursue people with criminal charges. Is he a cop or DA in your mind? Will he just post YouTube videos and memes filled with "evidence?'' Ask Ward how effective that is.... 1

Your critical thinking is suspect, i do hope that is taken objectively. To assume the WSJ is actually any type of a constitutional authority is beyond the pale. I ask you respectfully, do you rely on a newspaper to educate yourself on the US constitution? Watching this this impeachment was the greatest constitutional breach i have yet to witness, being portrayed as credible was thee last time i give the press anymore credibility than the local drunk pontificating at the local bar, perhaps a update is in order. Any more credibility than a Head pontificating and the local Hookah joint. That is what all the impeachment BS has been about: TRY to divert attention away from the election problems. I say TRY because it has failed, just like most of the "subterfuge" the Dems think they are getting away with. That's the thing with Jr. High School government: they THINK they are so clever and no one sees what they are doing, until they get thoroughly thumped and can only go back to their study groups.

The deranged Rep.who think Trump's movement is about Trump are heading for a meeting with reality, where their disloyalty to principles of constitutional law and its core of due process will get them booted out of primaries with a 10:1 vote. Reps are incensed by the election fraud and so are moderate Dems, They are becoming MORE active in local party and government operations with a HARD driven attitude to disintegrate the Dem/RINO power structure. The Great Awakening is rolling along for all but the most obtuse leftists who think communism in racist diversity drag could ever be more than a fringe political view without major sponsorship by China and its corporate hangers on to put them in positions of power. China spent $Trillions to put these new left folks where people see and hear them and where they have power. They do so because it is the most effective way for them to tank the US and thus remove it as a global power. The new left is the old Communist Party of America or the United States, an illegal party, all they take over becomes an illegal sedition organization. That includes universities, the Dem party, courts. It is the Military's job to remove these Chinese communist agents and their organizations (DNC and Biden admin) and people in corporate support of them. I expect they will do so in their good time once civilian efforts are done or prove inconsequential (Feb 19 SCOTUS hearings).. 1

Jeffrey Brown + 208 JB February 16, 2021 A Republican donor gave $2.5 million for a voter fraud investigation. He wants his money back https://www.adn.com/nation-world/2021/02/15/a-republican-donor-gave-25-million-for-a-voter-fraud-investigation-he-wants-his-money-back/ Like many Donald Trump supporters, conservative donor Fred Eshelman awoke the day after the presidential election with the suspicion that something wasn’t right. His candidate’s apparent lead in key battleground states had evaporated overnight. The next day, the North Carolina financier and his advisers reached out to a small conservative nonprofit group in Texas that was seeking to expose voter fraud. After a 20-minute talk with the group’s president, their first-ever conversation, Eshelman was sold. “I’m in for 2,” he told the president of True the Vote, according to court documents and interviews with Eshelman and others. “$200,000?” one of his advisers on the call asked. “$2 million,” Eshelman responded. Over the next 12 days, Eshelman came to regret his donation and to doubt conspiracy theories of rampant illegal voting, according to court records and interviews. Now, he wants his money back. . . . Overall, the experience left several people who were involved in the effort unconvinced that there ever was evidence of voter fraud to be discovered. Even Phillips, the former True the Vote board member, said he has doubts about the impact of any irregularities. “I don’t know if there was enough to make a difference in the presidential election,” he said. Crawford said: “I believe very much that Biden won and that anything we saw in terms of irregularities was not widespread enough to have changed the outcome.” Eshelman said he still believes there was “some misbehavior” in the election. “But do I believe it might have risen to a degree that would change the electoral outcome?” he said. “I don’t know.
