You guys are clearly in the Delusional Wing, i.e., Trump wing, of the GOP, where people persist in believing things that are simply not true.

McConnell, et al in are in the Reality Wing of the GOP, as evidenced by McConnell's post-Impeachment trial comments regarding Trump, where he basically invited prosecutors to attempt to "Lock him up."

We shall see which group prevails in 2022 and 2024, but here is a good quote by Leo Tolstoy:

“The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of a doubt, what is laid before him.”

Let me dummy it down for you since you refuse to look at the 138 Pages of discussion on the voter fraud. Here's just what Time magazine bragged about

Beyond just the obvious single vote being split, why don't you use your room temperature IQ to explain why the following vote totals also follow the exact same percentages? This is what mathematicians mean when they say one in a quintillion odds. Only a complete moron, or you, but I repeat myself, believes there is no fraud in this election, believes Xiden received 81 million votes, believes the entire world needs to shut down for a virus that kills 0.002% of healthy people. I could go on and on, but why keep rubbing your nose in your slow wittedness? Of course you quote a Communist!

Depraved Indifference Murder?

Regarding Trump, we now move into the civil and criminal prosecution phase, and Trump is already the subject of at least two criminal investigations that we know about, and I wonder if Trump will be able to wear a bright red tie with his orange jumpsuit?

It is interesting that the most senior elected GOP official in the country is effectively leading the "Lock him up" chant.

In my opinion, Trump should be prosecuted for depraved indifference murder in regard to the January 6th attack on the Capitol, and a former federal prosecutor thinks that Trump should be charged with depraved indifference murder in regard to his actions and inactions regarding the pandemic.

Regarding the January 6th attack, to the extent that it could be established that Trump was effectively a felony co-conspirator with the mob--and note that he picked the date,  time and place of the assault that resulted in multiple fatalities and heavily publicized it--I wonder if he and a large part of the mob could be jointly charged with first degree felony murder?

Following is an except from the Wikipedia entry on depraved indifference murder:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depraved-heart_murder

In United States law, depraved-heart murder, also known as depraved-indifference murder, is a type of murder where an individual acts with a "depraved indifference" to human life and where such act results in a death, despite that individual not explicitly intending to kill. In a depraved-heart murder, defendants commit an act even though they know their act runs an unusually high risk of causing death or serious bodily harm to a person. If the risk of death or bodily harm is great enough, ignoring it demonstrates a "depraved indifference" to human life and the resulting death is considered to have been committed with malice aforethought.[1][2] In some states, depraved-heart killings constitute second-degree murder,[3] while in others, the act would be charged with "wanton murder,"[4][5] varying degrees of manslaughter,[6] or third-degree murder.

If no death results, such an act would generally constitute reckless endangerment (sometimes known as "culpable negligence") and possibly other crimes, such as assault.

Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner thinks President Trump's coronavirus admissions should land him in prison. . .

"There are only two elements for second-degree murder. The first is you caused the death of another," Kirschner said Thursday. That factor was fulfilled because Trump "was lying to the American people about the danger this virus posed," and now 190,000 people are dead, Kirschner said. "The second element is the intent element," which would "get tricky if we didn't have Trump's incriminating admissions," he continued. But "in my opinion as a career prosecutor," Trump admitted to "conscious disregard" of the risk his coronavirus downplay created, thus admitting to "second-degree murder" that he "must be held accountable" for, Kirschner finished.

Trump has privately voiced concern about being charged related to January 6 riot

https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/13/politics/trump-concern-charges-january-6/index.html

Former President Donald Trump has privately voiced concern in the last two weeks about whether he could face charges as a result of the January 6 riot he's accused of inciting, according to multiple people.

Trump has mainly been quiet since leaving the White House last month, and his silence has been in part related to those concerns.

"He's worried about it," one adviser close to Trump told CNN.

In his speech explaining his acquittal vote Saturday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell strongly implied the legal process should address Trump's role in the riot, which he said the former President was "practically and morally responsible" for. Rep. Liz Cheney, the No. 3 House Republican who has faced backlash for her vote to impeach, has said similar.

CNN has previously reported that federal investigators could look at everyone involved in the unrest at the US Capitol, including the role Trump played in inciting the crowd, according to the acting US attorney in Washington.

Asked directly by a reporter in January if investigators were looking at the role Trump played at the rally, acting US Attorney Michael Sherwin had said, "We're looking at all actors here and anyone that had a role and, if the evidence fits the elements of the crime, they're going to be charged."

I'll leave your "depraved-heart" alone for now, except to say that that standard would have every military, police and government leader open to prosecution for murder at any time and for virtually any reason.  But that's okay with your crowd of jurisprudence be damned, isn't it?  I say we should go back and impeach all living Presidents, don't you?

As for your new torch bearer, former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner, he can think and say anything he wants, at least as long as your Liberal Comrades allow him to; he neither is nor was a judge and neither is nor was a lawmaker, so it doesn't matter except in one or two ways:

As a "Former federal prosecutor" he identifies as deep state and has been an outspoken Trump critic for a long time, so thanks for clarifying that first of all.  Secondly, these entries from your favorite fact finding site "Wikipedia" say the rest:

Glenn L. Kirschner (b. 1961) is an American attorney and former U.S. Army prosecutor who is NBC News/MSNBC legal analyst.

For developments with the Special Counsel investigation (2017–present), Kirschner has provided legal commentary on national news media programs such as MSNBC’ s Morning Joe, MSNBC Live[14] and Hardball with Chris Matthews, CNN's The Lead with Jake Tapper and The Stephanie Miller Show.[15]

This will most likely be Donald Trump's focus for the next few years, IMHO.  The Dems have laid open the gates for any and all investigations of anyone in government, or in past governments.  Donald Trump has the supporters, the resources and, shall we say, the appetite for such endeavors.  And he can take the heat off of conservatives in office by doing it largely from outside the government.  That means they can, and IMHO will, pursue them with criminal charges, not some petty government slap on the wrist.

Katy bar the door!  And let's get the popcorn ready, dear.

Lindsey Graham warns that Kamala Harris could be impeached if Republicans win House next year

Senator Lindsey Graham warned Sunday that if Republicans take control of the House of Representatives in next year’s mid-term elections, Vice President Kamala Harris could face impeachment for her tweet supporting a bail fund for Black Lives Matter protesters over the summer.

Speaking in an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” a day after the U.S. Senate acquitted President Trump, the South Carolina Republican said the former president’s impeachment trial, brought forth because of the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riots, “opened Pandora’s Box.”

“If you use this model, I don’t know how Kamala Harris doesn’t get impeached if the Republicans take over the House, because she actually bailed out rioters...,” Graham said of the former California senator from Oakland. “So we’ve opened Pandora’s Box here, and I’m sad for the country.”

I believe a new social media platform will be forthcoming. It will have an immediate following of close to 75 million people. From that platform we'll finally get to hear from Mr. Trump again--uncut and unfiltered. I suspect the tenor will be somewhat different than the shrill accusations and sound bites that we've been hearing. And I would imagine that Ben Sasse, Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowsky, Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, Mitch McConnell are going to have their lives turned upside down, inside out, until we know all the skeletons in their closets--I doubt that a single one of them runs again.

Additionally, I rather suspect Mr. Trump has a precise telephone/text log that will be released. He had access to NSA until Jan. 20 so I rather suspect there were others--Democrats come to mind--who might have known a thing or two about the Capitol invasion. If they're out there, they can also kiss their tush goodbye.

As to all his many legal problems, Mr. Trump didn't murder anyone and he didn't tell anyone to go harm anyone else--the trial was bogus, nothing more than a show trial. Criminal liability? I'd think very hard before trying to make that case--it might just backfire. Real estate transactions? Mr. Trump is no stranger to the real estate courts.

No matter how Mr. McConnell and others try to spin this, Mr. Trump remains very much the most commanding figure in the Republican Party. He will soon have his own bully pulpit . . . and we all know how that goes. His supporters aren't limited to thugs and crazies; most are folks who are just fed up with the Deep State and exactly what they're seeing now from Mr. Biden. By the end of four years, we're going to need to increase the number of vomitoriums by 5-fold, the way Mr. Biden is ruining America. 60 presidential authority declarations in 20 days?

It really doesn't matter how much agitprop is posted here on oilprice.com--that affects no one. As we saw in the months leading up to the 2016 election, social media is the platform on which public figures grow their popularity and get their messages out. That worked just fine for Mr. Trump. In the last election, the news was not only censored by the likes of CNN, MSNBC, NBC, NYT, WaPost, but finally, in desperation, by the social media platforms as well. When the whole world is piling on and you have lost your voice, things can get a bit cockeyed.

I think Telegram will soon have an incredible audience. Soon we'll see that in America, censorship doesn't work.

Trump would be brilliant to purchase such a medium. Analysts in 2016 credited Trump with single handedly rescuing Twitter from oblivion. He had 80 million followers on twitter for most of his Presidency. They tried to pretend that there were celebrities with more, but simple analysis showed those were largely fictitious, zombie and bot accounts. If Trump starts his own version or joins Gab, Big Tech will be forced to use blatant means to try and silence him. In that effort they will ultimately fail, and our themselves as the fascists they clearly are to the remnant of us population who haven't figured it out yet.
