Gerry Maddoux + 3,627 GM March 1, 2021 Politics have always been like this. Everywhere. President Sarkozy was just convicted of corruption. No jail sentence. Putin enriched himself beyond all imagination. The people love him. Once upon a time, the VP of the United States, a fellow named Aaron Burr, went over to the Senate each morning and resided as President Pro Tem while being wanted in New York state for murder of Alexander Hamilton. U.S. President Warren G. Harding created the Teapot Dome Scandal, along with several others. It was his corruption that led to the act allowing Congress to subpoena tax records. Politics is intrinsically a dirty game. Some people go into it thinking they can change the world, but the world almost always changes them. 1
