It would have to have a charger right there. The old drive up motels will not have chargers. I don't even see them in more expensive motels. Maybe in California. 

I have only seen one or two Tesla cars in Central Illinois. A couple of Leafs or Bolts too.

It sounds like you think there is already a complete infrastructure of convenient charging stations that would alleviate the need for wasting time charging. That, if it were true, would still leave the great disparity in price for most people.

A new element is the rapidly increasing price of electricity in some states. If there is no direct cost it will be built in or paid by taxpayers.

On long road trips I can always find a gas station to fill up my ICE...takes only a short time to fill up.

Most people sit in their car listening to tunes or if in a Tesla watching Netflix or playing on the game console. You can think of better things to do than eating...good to know.

Most people are intelligent enough to figure out that exiting the highway in an ICE, going to the gas station, then to the drive thru and eating in the parking lot is the same as going to the drive thru in an EV and then eating at the charging station.

There is over 3 ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE of solar energy reaching the earth's surface than ALL of the energy humanity uses today. Guaranteed, day after day, year after year.

It ain't to hard to store enough to last the "other 12 hours", when a huge percentage of the population sleeps (demanding MUCH less energy) anyway...

Show me a highway map with fast food restaurants, motels, and adjacent charging stations along the highways. Full information needed. I don't need to worry about that with an ICE vehicle. When we travel we make quick stops until nightfall.

I think you need to visit your optometrist. The CNG map shows a fraction of the stations and oh yeah, no one drives a CNG car in the US.
