The damage to the planet earth is real from burning large amounts of Coal...The earth is getting hotter than it has been in the past 1000000 years and the increase in CO2 is lockstep with the increase in temperature.

the only question is how much hotter it will get because of our past burning large amounts of coal and how much hotter will it get from burning more coal.....

what do you think ??? (come on you can do it)1?  2? 3? 4? 5? degrees C hotter  in the next 20 years?????? going to be a real scorcher in Texas....hell on earth??? maybe you like that? Step up and put out a number......

You are genuinely anti-science, old boy.

You have nothing to support your ravings, so until you can read science you should hold your tongue.

Leave the science to those of us who have actually studied it.

Many studies have shown that CO2 TRAILS temperature change, showing that temperature is related to some other variable than CO2.

In other words, the weirdos who promote the CO2 theory are emitting nothing but hot air.

Here are the real studies.

"We find a high degree of co-variation between all data series except 7) and 8), but with changes in CO2 always lagging changes in temperature. The maximum positive correlation between CO2 and temperature is found for CO2 lagging 11-12 months in relation to global sea surface temperature, 9.5-10 months to global surface air temperature, and about 9 months to global lower troposphere temperature. "

catch the news out of China lately......oh my exports down down down

Outbound shipments from the world's second-largest economy slumped a worse-than-expected 12.4% year-on-year in June, data from China's Customs Bureau showed on Thursday, following a drop of 7.5% in May.

imports are down to.....hmm that is not good as China mainly imports raw goods such as oil.......

poof goes your oil demand......China is in a deflationary spiral down and no one is buying their goods

Sorry Comrade your beloved country is not a shining star anymore..........

The party is over, EVs are still a niche market which has saturated. The EV manufacturers cannot give away these things. Nobody wants them....sad.

The inventory problem for EVs is getting worse as we speak. The market for EVs has run its course, the market is saturated as potential buyers have already bought an EV.

https://www.businessinsider.com/ford-electric-vehicle-inventory-problem-trying-to-beat-tesla-2023-7?fbclid=IwAR27RD7w5ucvrI8b-CPzQZSQJp02gKpOZzkGxZHDJNs2Dq2PyQXe2EfDjrk

"Ford dealers sold 86.4% of their Mach-E inventory within 30 days in the second quarter of 2022, but that figure — known as a turn rate — dropped to 27.7% in the same period of 2023 even as the automaker had more than twice as much inventory on the market, according to data from the analytics firm Cloud Theory.

Ford's second-quarter sales of the Mach-E fell 21% from last year (10,941 vehicles) to the same period this year (8,633)."

When you reflect on the fact that air that is 1 degree C warmer can hold 7% more moisture, it ain't hard to see where the storms are coming from.

Oil demand is reaching all-time highs and expected to increase further, with demand pulling oil prices higher.

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Oil-Prices/Texas-Producers-Expect-Higher-Oil-Prices.html

"China and India will lead the 1.8 million barrels per day (bpd) growth in global liquid fuels consumption in 2023, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook earlier this week.

Global oil inventories will transition from inventory builds, on average, during the first half of 2023, to consistent inventory draws until the fourth quarter of 2024, the EIA said, adding that “This transition puts upward pressure on global oil prices.”"

Biden & Co. are calling for oil demand growth pushing up oil prices. Biden & Co. are hoping that increased oil production will continue to support the American economy. After all, reality is reality.

https://www.eia.gov/outlooks/steo/report/global_oil.php

"Global liquid fuels consumption in our forecast increases by 1.8 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2023 and by 1.6 million b/d in 2024. Most of the expected liquid fuels demand growth is in non-OECD Asia, led by China and India. We expect China’s liquid fuels consumption will rise by 0.8 million b/d in 2023 and by 0.4 million b/d in 2024. India’s liquid fuels consumption in our forecast increases by an average of 0.3 million b/d in both 2023 and 2024."

Over the past ten years, temperature has declined.

The average temperature of Earth has increased by about 0.14 degrees Fahrenheit (0.08 degrees Celsius), per decade, since 1880. However, the rate of warming has been more than twice as fast since 1981. The past 10 years (2013-2022) have been the warmest on record, with 2016, 2019, and 2020 being the three warmest years.

In 2022, the average global temperature was 1.55 °F (0.86 °Celsius) warmer than the 20th-century average of 57.0 °F (13.9 °C) and 1.90 ˚F (1.06 ˚C) warmer than the pre-industrial period (1880-1900).

That said, the warming trend is not uniform across the planet. Some areas are warming more than others, and some are even cooling. However, the overall trend is clear: Earth is warming, and the rate of warming is accelerating.

This warming is probably caused by human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels. These activities release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, which trap heat and warm the planet.

The evidence for climate change is overwhelming and irrefutable. However, there are still some people who deny that it is happening.  Such people often cite cherry-picked data or flawed studies to support their claims. However, the vast majority of scientists agree that climate change is real and that it is caused by human activities.

The impacts of climate change are already being felt around the world, and I (and the Insurance and Underwriting industries) expect it to become more severe in the future. These impacts include rising sea levels, more extreme weather events, and changes in plant and animal life.  The massive death of Ponderosa, Lodgepole, and other pine trees in the western United States is a direct example.

I’ve found that if one scratches the surface of a denier/contrarian/skeptic, one almost always finds a very right wing personality that believes that climate science is strongly biased by a left wing ideology to make findings that support left wing ‘solutions’. Media, such as the rather right wing WSJ, tend to spread opinions that, they hope, will counter the ‘closet socialism’ they believe is piggy-backing on, and exaggerating, climate science for ideological reasons. To quote Upton Sinclair: “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it".

When trying to convince a climate denier, I will to be patient and understanding. It may take some time to change their mind.  It is important to keep the conversation going.

Its definitely not getting colder!

Land temperatures in Spain surpass 60C as deadly heatwave sweeps Europe

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/highest-temperature-in-spain-today-b2375109.html

Spain is the go to holiday destination for many in Europe, however the Spanish are now saying that Spain has become a winter holiday deatination due to the temperature increase as its too hot to sunbathe in the summer. Roads are literally melting in the heat.

Greece , Italy , Portugal, Croatia, Cyprus are all hugely reliant on tourism along with Sapin and this will seriously harm their economy let alone their populations well being.

wow .....Maybe Ecochump and his dimwitted pals should take a vacation in Spain and find out what hell on earth is really like these days

I worked in Death Valley and in the Sonoran Desert..... 120 F in the day were tops....you lasted about 20 minutes at a stretch....night shifts were the norm for construction projects

worked underground in Arizona, at San Manuel, 120 F and 100 percent humidity again 20 minutes and then into the ice room, no fat miners in that mine.....

60 C ...frying eggs and Bacon...Brutal

60 C should be a wake up call for those in denial

definitely not getting colder

UK trade bodies call for pumped storage investment

Scottish Renewables and the British Hydropower Association support recommendations to bring investment targets forward to this year

  8 JULY 2020

Scottish Renewables and the British Hydropower Association have called on the UK Government to support long-duration electricity storage, including pumped storage hydro.

In a joint letter to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the trade bodies highlighted that by supporting investment in long-duration electricity storage, the UK Government can reduce consumer bills, CO2 emissions and the UK’s reliance on imported gas.

With many renewable technologies, such as offshore wind, having variable outputs, energy storage will be essential to ensure that low-cost power generated by renewables can be delivered to consumers when they need it most.

The Government’s current commitment is to deliver policy to enable investment in pumped storage hydro at some point in 2024.

However, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) committee recently recommended that this should be brought forward to 2023.

Scottish Renewables and the British Hydropower Association strongly support this recommendation.

Investment would reduce annual constraint costs, with potential savings of up to £680m per year by 2050.

Andrew MacNish Porter, Policy Manager at Scottish Renewables, said: “As we move towards a cleaner, greener future with more and more renewable power added to the electricity network we know that long-duration electricity storage, such as pumped storage hydro, will be essential for ensuring energy security and keeping bills low for consumers.

“A recent report which Scottish Renewables commissioned from BiGGAR Economics found that six projects currently under development in Scotland will more than double the UK’s pumped storage hydro capacity to 7.7GW, create almost 15,000 jobs and generate up to £5.8bn for the UK economy by 2035.

“We need to get these shovel-ready projects into construction right away and urge the Prime Minister and the UK Government to deliver an investment framework that will unlock the huge value of pumped storage hydro as soon as possible.”

That is good to see!

While pumped storage is a reliable and mature technology, the typical storage capacity is less than 24 hours at rated output (actually much less, say 8 hours).  This will need to be lengthened considerably to cover extended periods of low renewable output from wind generation.
